Hey guys
Feb 8th is approaching, i dont know if it's just me but people dont seem to be as nervous as previous times... i think maybe the exams weren't as tough (except P2)
Anyway now that the answers are out lets predict our results to kill time
I did P5 - i expect anything between 45% and 65%
ACCA Forums
General ACCADec 2014 Session Results!!!!
I got the BPP and Becker e-mails too, those are sent every January and are purely generic.
Is there any situation where anyone got results before officially released?
I don't think it would have been happened earlier..
@kumaran Yes there were numerous situations in the past but acca has managed to seal most of them... Last sitting only finalists could tell using a certain link whether they had made it or not, plus the Online Transfer Letter
ooooh even non finalists had a small leak.. under 'Exams' down there where we have 'Resources'... Those who had failed some or all of their papers had 'Administrative Review' added under 'Resources', remember it is usually not there.... however this happened only a day or two before results day. This was true for finalists as well
@kibalka I can see the "administrative review" under "exam status and results" in myACCA account. It follows the section of "results correspondence" so does that mean I've failed some of my papers, like P2? Oh my God.
It's saying "ACCA undertakes many checks and controls during the marking process to ensure that all exam results are accurate. However, we recognise that students may sometimes feel that their results do not reflect their perceived performance in the exam. In response to this, ACCA provides an administrative review service.
Find out more about the administrative review service"
@Gabriel, thats where it usually is... but it will now appear under 'Exams'.. 'Resources'... where you have 3 items as below
- Exam timetable
- Exam papers
- Student disciplinary procedures
- Administrative review (this option will appear so that you can apply for it)
Those who've passed dont get it
Right now you only have the first 3
@kibalka yes you are right I only have the first three options under "exams" and then "resources". So do you think this time this trick will work? When should I start to look out for the admin review option? Next week?
in fact i confused where it appeared. i have now remembered, it will appear under 'Exam Results' where you have:
- View your status report
- ERS status notes
- Print a certificate
a fourth item appears:
- Administrative review request
it appeared for those who failed about 2 to 3 days before results. Last time it was there for about an hour then acca realised and removed it
so the "admin review" that's there after results correspondence is perfectly normal isn't it?
If you say ACCA realised it then this time we have to just wait till 8th Feb.
maybe yes maybe no... trust me acca has repeated exam leaks mistakes over and over
where admin review currently is, it's normal... watch out for - 'admin review request'..
yes @ kibalka I think your former conclusion is right rather than the later that it was in the under ‘Exams’.. ‘Resources’… where you have 3 items as below
– Exam timetable
– Exam papers
– Student disciplinary procedures
– Administrative review (this option will appear so that you can apply for it)
because the "exams status and results" section had been blocked a week earlier to results as I remember.
Result release is getting closer so the tension is building up. I am waiting for P2, P3 - hoping to pass at least 1 paper - and I will be very happy.
My policy was always not to look at answers before the results just to don't get any more nervous :). I only skimmed P3 through one question just to see if I have used correct model.
About P2 I would say that paper was hard 'not because it was hard' but I really felt that examiner was trying to trick and play with my mind during exam (and oh my he did it very well).
Although I tried to write whole exam and not giving up I'm totally out of clue If I was answering the question set. After exam I felt - ok the exam wasn't THAT hard - but actually the more I had thought about it the more I am concerned about the result.
It was my first attempt P2 so I don't have comparison to previous papers - but the general feel from what people write here is that it was 'awkward', 'tricky', 'not what they have seen previously really'
@seagoat it was my first attempt too and yes the examiner really played us. I also felt ok after the paper but every day I get a new realization of the terrible mistakes I've made and I really feel the world has tumble over for me and all hell will break lose on 8th Feb.
I think because of the massive data upload, they may get this kind of issues.........
@seagoat did you do question 2 and question 3 or question 2 and question 4? in P2 Dec 2014?
@Gabriel I did Q2 and Q4.
@seagoat how did you find Question two? I am not sure even if I'll score 5 marks in that question :(
@Gabriel
Q2 c), d) was close to disaster - I was totally improvising. Part a) b) okaish but still I don't think i managed to make enough different ideas.
Q4 was like a scatter gun for me - I tried to wrote about everything I know with attempting to relate this to scenario set - again improvisation...
What do you think about proffesional marks for this paper? I think there is also an issue here with this paper P2. As I read other P-levels they are easier to obtain - they really help to achieve pass mark say jumping from 48-49 to 50-51.
For P2 it seems like they make a difference between say 60 and 64 marks - they are given for quality and clarity of presentation - is it really about the layout of your answer? I really understand this as clarity and quality of the content. So if your answer is good profesional marks dont make the difference you still pass.
If content of answer is bad you simply dont receive those marks since there is no quality and clarity...
I don't know .... It just seems for me they are not as easy to score as for other papers...
@seagoat I really don't know about the professional marks but what I do know is that the P2 examiner is very egoistic and is a big pessimist. I think he forgot that he's setting the exam for students, he sat it at HIS LEVEL - a professor's level. I don't know why he want to prove to the whole world that he is smarter than us, we know that. Why doesn't he just set a fair paper, what does he want to prove?
@seagoat you are right. I've heard that nobody ever gets the full professional marks in P2. The markers are misers with the professional marks, and physiologically, if they see that you are a "bad" student then I think they wouldn't award the professional marks too no matter how good your presentation is.
Still 17 days more to release the results......
We will expect reasonable response from examiners
@kumaran what do you mean by "reasonable response from examiners" are you talking about the examiner's report?
No, I mean that many of us faced difficulties in some exam papers, like time pressure and difficult questions.
Examiners should give reasonable marks without reducing marks just because of answer scheme different.
Any received Student Accountant magazine yesterday??its kind of unsettling me
I received it but I don't think so this can be a sign of unsettling us
The magazine is not a sign.
Another strange thing is acca hasn't sent an email to finalists asking if they'de wish to be put in the affiliates list should they pass.... lots of strange things this time round.. mmmm!
When are the Examiner Reports released?
It is after the result released.
As the 2 week mark approaches, I can't help but feel really nervous.
With my PERs done, time served done........what I would do for this final tick in the box! Firstly things first, a better paying job would be on the menu:))
Passing this final exam would mean the world to me...... If I pass I think I might just go dancing in the street naked... That's how much it would mean to me.
How happy would a pass make u?
