OpenTuition (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates https://opentuition.com (the “Site”), providing free ACCA and CIMA online courses. For the purposes of UK GDPR and EU GDPR, the Data Controller is [OpenTuition.com, Riga Latvia]. You can contact us at admin@opentuition.com.
2. What data we collect and why
- Account data: username, email address, location, and qualification studied — to create and operate your account.
- Comment data: content submitted, IP address, and browser user-agent string — for publication and spam prevention.
- Uploaded media: images and any EXIF metadata you choose to include.
- Cookies: session, login, preference, and (optional) comment-author cookies.
- Usage data: pages visited, referrer, device/browser info, collected via analytics to improve the Site.
- Embedded content: third-party sites (e.g., YouTube, Vimeo) may set their own cookies and collect data as if you had visited them directly.
3. Legal bases for processing (GDPR Art. 6)
- Contract: to provide the courses and account you requested.

6. International transfers
Some processors are located outside the UK/EEA. Where this is the case, we rely on UK/EU adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) to safeguard your data.
7. Retention
- Account data: until you delete your account, plus up to 30 days in backups.
- Comments: retained while the account is active, so follow-up comments are recognised.
- Analytics logs: up to 26 months.
- Legal/tax records: as required by applicable law.
8. Your rights
Under UK/EU GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to processing, and data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time. Submit requests to admin@opentuition.com. You may also complain to your local supervisory authority (UK: ICO; EU: your national DPA).

We use TLS encryption, access controls, and regular updates to protect your data, but no online service can be guaranteed 100% secure.
10. Children
The Site is aimed at adult learners. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. Contact us to request deletion of any such data.
11. Advertising and profiling
Third-party advertisers may use cookies and similar technologies to display targeted ads based on your browsing. We do not carry out automated decision-making that produces legal effects concerning you.
