APM*** ACCA P5 June 2017 Exam Results ***

So after 4 resits I failed yet again with 46. This is my last paper and I am so disappointed as I thought I did better than last time when I got a 48. Really trying to keep my spirits up but it's getting harder and harder to stay motivated.

Passed with 50% on my third attempt - this was my final paper so can get my life back now!!! This is the only paper that I had to sit 3 times and it is a strange one. I thought the June Paper was ridiculous and was sure I had failed it as left about 20% behind with the time constraints and felt it was the worst I had done out of the 3 attempts. Very shocked that I passed but I'll take it :O) So to those of you who are struggling with this paper - you are not alone. Keep your head down and keep practicing the past questions timing yourself. Go over your notes for 30 mins first each study session and then also build up your notes from what you are learning from doing the past papers.

Failed with 38 marks only... Totally nonplussed, to be honest, as the paper did not even seem difficult. Question 1 looked rather like a typical question from the Revisions book... It really is hard to understand what exactly to improve in my answers...

Thanks be to God, Open Tuition, LSBF (David Laws to be specific), Kaplan and Becker for all your resources, notes, guidance and advice. I would have never been able to finally pass P5 after 6 attempts!! I am now ACCA qualified and very happy.

To all those who didn't pass, please don't give up. Passed on third attempt P5. The last papers are really hard especially P5 and P4.

Passed with 51%, and its my third attempt. For those fail in the exam, please don't give up, just keep repeating do the questions to families the way for analysis and answering the question. Thanks to opentuition tutor by giving free study material for those self study student, and also the donator and sponsor for this website, appreciate for everyone put afford to keep this website runing.

Passed 2nd attempt from 48% to 53%. To all those that didn't pass this time, don't give up. I like this forum because it gives other ppl encouragement. On my second attempt, I found the most important element is time management. If you get stuck on a particular question, just move on. This will give you more chance of answering the other questions Now i have one more exam to go.

Sorry to hear you didn't pass but don't give up. I have been in your shoes before.It took me 6 years to finally pass P5. I would suggest you spend a lot of time solving past questions in order to familiarize yourself on how the theories were applied in the answers to the past questions. Better luck next time.

sorry to hear your sad news but don't give up yet. Put the text book somewhere and focus your time on the past questions. That's the key to passing this paper. It took me such a long time to finally understand this paper and when i did, i passed after 6 years struggling. Better luck next time.

i share your pain. Guess what? i took me 6 good years to pass p5. i failed because i honestly did not understand the paper but when i did, i passed it. I focused on solving past questions and there i go to know why i had failed all these while.Don't give up yet. Never say die until the bones are rotten.

Finally i am an Affiliate after such a long journey. After six attempts i managed to secure 51% to qualify. In fact P5 became a standing block to my qualification and i share in the pain in those who couldn't make it. I have expressed similar sentiments before specially in the March exam when i thought i was going to go through. Just don't give up do more revision and more critically is to manage your time well. Time yourself and never go over the time allocated to each question. i did just about 80% but covered every aspect of the question. I can now have time for my family they have sacrificed a lot. I wish all who have to write again the best of luck.

Thanks you so much Open tution your revision materials are excellent. Since last year September i relied only on the revision materials, videos and the flash cards.

Congratulations to all you guys who have passed and r done with acca. But before u go please tell us your approach to P5, any technics we can learn? Third sitting and got a 43%. Please help good people

Those of my friends who are not able to pass this time rememer that at times Life may knock you down badly BUT the key is to pick yourself up and fight again and again until you succeed. At one time i was so demotivated that i left ACCA with 11 papers knowing that i won't be able to complete it, but resumed after a long period of time with new determination and ambition and qualified the remaining 3 in first attempt. Keep fighting.

53% :) i was so sure to fail but God knows how i got 53...lol...20 pts i did not attempt in the exams...so it's 53 out of 80...i was lucky...lol...ACCA is now over...yupiiiii

My brother it's terribly frustrating when results come and you couldn't make it especially in your case if it's the last paper. It happened to mefor 1 whole year. Never give up reorganise yourself and write in September. Never stop writing until you get it because all the sittings are not the same in terms of the structure of the questions you may be fortunate to have a manageable one. Manage your time strictly according to the marks allocated to each question. The key is to write something about every part of the questions than elaborating on the once you can handle very well. In addition, do more questions and answers. In fact it's no easy leaving an easy question to go and start another because you are behind time but, trust me we are mostly failed due to mismanagement of the time. Remember the instruction on the cover page of the exam is 'ATTEMPT' the questions. This is a professional exam and i could see we are being assesed in all facet. Good luck

To God be the Glory, i have managed to pass with 50%. It was by the miracles of God. The issue is that i want to encourage those that are rewritting to persevere and press on and never to give up. I have written this paper more than seven times and never gave up. you too can do it. Dont miss a sitting and come back fighting everytime. when you miss the sitting, no one will explain to you the questions and style of questions which came because NOW we have hybrid past papers and some questions will never be published. In addition practice writting exams under exam conditions and also learn to handle the time pressure using the X 1.8 min per question marks allocated and write the timing when starting every question so that every question is attempted It is important to get the easy marks such as professional marks and easy theory marks for explaining. Be careful of calculations and time which can be lost there in taking long, Don't follow order of answering but go for the sequence to answer in line with easy marks. Finally with no 15 min reading time, I once failed because I did not decide which 2 of the 3 options to go for, I started and then stopped midway and restarted on another question. What iam saying is that take time to choose which 2 of 3 to answer in Section B and don't backtrack on your decision. Make good use of Becker, Open tuition, BPP and Kaplan , BUT be cautious of information overload and know how to identify the best source of information. Mine I maximized the ones I have mentioned BUT Best utilized soft copy of BPP Study and Rev KIT because with soft copy I could go in search mode to look at a topic or question. It was surprising that when we were looking for EVA serious calculations questions, only some simple explanations came through. This paper has actually changed and has many theory work so to say. But EVA calculation question should surely and can come in Sep 2017 exam (disclaimer here ,lol) Hope this will help to those that are rewriting. Go on don't give up , you have come this far already???

Hi please help me on this I tried 6 attempts keep failing, can I swap P5 to P4, can any one give me an advise who did both exams?
