Hi, Congrats on your submission. The results are usually out just a few days before your second coursework deadline as per my experience. Your tutor and course managers usually write an e-mail with the probable date for results. You will receive information soon. It's hell waiting for results. I have to wait until October for my final GIFP module results which i completed in June! Anyways, all the best!

Thanks for your response. It's a long wait then for the result. I better focus on my other exams for now. Well done for finishing GIFP!! With my feedback on the course, it's still ongoing and I am finding it a bit challenging. I am doing SFM plus trying to study for other two P papers for Sep sitting. It is a great way to develop academic, critical thinking, and writing skills. Certainly, I am already learning a lot in that sense. However, it requires a lot of reading and self-study, so if you're a slow reader like me, it's taking me longer to learn and understand specially with the absence of lecture support like we get from OT, BPP or Kaplan which are exam focused. They do have video support to give an overview of the topic though. It takes getting used to I should say. I have given feedback on making lectures and there are queries from other students too, so would be great if they can provide them for future students. Well, I will keep this thread updated so others can benefit from my experience too. Best of luck with the result :)

Hey guys got the news yesterday....on vacation today (fortunately want travelling with monarch or ryanair) Experience....this was good. Strategic financial project challenged us in the application of knowledge to a scenario presented. The prep work for that was a group management of an airline entity. Don't know what they will do this round (maybe the same). The key thing is to work on your analytical skills as well as your ability to filter through tons of information to find relevant details. Support....I guess I tend to be self motivated although completing the module in the audit busy season was a challenge and it would have been useful to have a familiar face helping to push me through. An enterprising member of the cohort had created a WhatsApp group for the final project based on the topic chosen and lots of information was freely shared. My advice is to get on that final project very early. Do a little per day because the time can easily slip by. Would I recommend it.....Definitely. while completing ACCA is in itself an accomplishment, there are some prospective employers who value an individual with other credentials. This is a way of taking what we do on a daily basis, applying it within a structured degree programme and aching a qualification which only serves to validate the work we already do as professionals.

As for posting the coursework....1. That would not be ethical and 2. I believe in challenging yourself....so definitely not a chance.

During my ACCA studies you have been very helpful to me on number of my doubts.I thank you once again for your invaluable contribution. I am currently in the first module of UOL Msc, pathway -2 started in July 2017 and the Icarus simulation is underway with the first course work submitted and awaiting grading. I am curious to know the % of grades you were secured on each of your course work and final project, if you are comfortable to share. I believe this will give me an idea as to how I may be able to perform. Although it may not make any sense to you, I have some kind of calculations in my mind to form my chances of securing a pass % looking at your pass %. Sound weird?, Ignore it if you think it is nonsense. Did your team ever came first in simulation competition? How close you were to the real world figures with your estimated figures? Is the final project on SIFP is about creating a financial model similar to the Icarus simulation model? Is GIFP project similar to SIFP? Is an actual research need to be undertaken by us? Yes you can, the course is all online, so you can study anywhere in the world. Check out the website for more info. on which pathway you are eligible to join. All dependent on ACCA passes.

Dear Sister, The program requires daily reading for at least 2hrs on average. Like i have said earlier, it depends on every individual. So if you are good and quick reader 2 hours is good. If not then it may take you longer. For pathway 2 there are no exams like ACCA but projects of 4000 words to 6000 words. So these may take longer hours. Being a parent myself, I understand the workload is quite a bit and hence you may want to consider if you can give time for the reading and the project. I hope you have gone through the prospectus for this Master's program. Nothing is impossible! You can have a go at one module, I would say SFP which is less stressful than GIFP. From there you can judge how much effort is required. You can then take a break and do the other module when you are ready. You have five years to complete the 2 modules. I know of a mothers who have small children and are doing the degree. So i am thinking its possible! Congratulations and wishing you the best whatever decision you make!

Hi guys, I am one of those who enrolled SPF program. unfortunately I failed the project. 50/100 in coursework (30%) 45/100 in final project (70%) I wondered what was the pass rate of SPF. (I was a qualified ACCA member and never failed in any ACCA subjects) SPF was tough and I did make efforts on it. The coursework result came out first. I was surprised and disappointed to find I only got 50/100 (I thought I may got around 70) And I had much pressure to complete the final project. I thought it was okay, but the result really shocked me. So, finally I decided to give it up.The fee is not cheap after all.

I understand, the course works can be challenging, you really need to spend a lot of time reading and picking up the important topics to focus on...the SFM exam was very difficult, result will come out in Feb 2018. Didn't even complete the last questions. I certainly learned a lot from doing it, but it's not an easy course to do. Hope I did enough to get a pass. I think if you can manage to pass, the degree is worth having.

I just enrolled for "Global issues for the finance professional" for this coming intake. But I can't seem to find any info on how much works need to be done on coursework and final assessment. Has anyone done it already ? and/or has any info on how much work needed? Worry about time management - how to plan for 3 pieces of work in 6 months.

Have you completed the other one ? Or is this your First Module ? If you dont mind sharing, could you tell us what EXACTLY came up in the exam ? It was my understanding that there will be no exams, only assignments and Projects ?

Hi, there are two pathways - one is 3 modules and the other is 2 modules depending on where you are in your ACCA qualification. The topics covered are similar to the equivalent paper in ACCA or a bit more cause they use a different text book, but the emphasis is different and the methods and techniques are highly academic, in my opinion. Due to ethical issues, I am unable to share what exactly came up but they will provide you with sample if you contact the University in order to get a feel of the course. They are very helpful and supportive.

I understand, there is a lot more they cover than exam focused materials which we usually come across with BPP or Kaplan. It's quite a substantial course and requires you to think and analyse critically, and write academically. You have to be used to picking up the important parts. I don't think it's for everyone, I agree with you in that sense. Having a UoL master's degree is always great on CV and I guess, it may give you the edge over other qualified candidates. So for me, say, if there are 3 qualified candidates, first is acca / cima qualified only, the second is acca qualified with a foreign MBA, and the third is acca qualified with a British MSc. In my opinion, the third looks a more attractive position. It is obviously a matter of perception.

Its a lot of work no way two ways about. Just finished the GIFP module. Two 4000 word course-works and a 6800 word final project for the assessments. 20 topics across 6 themes for the module content.You really need to find a way to stay on top of the content and do some wider research and reading outside the material, to help your understanding, as well as when completing the assessments, in terms of generating the necessary quality and content for your submissions. It is critical to help your confidence when writing. Its achievable no doubt, I typically work 12 hours a day weekdays (8am to 8pm) plus Saturdays every fortnight. I was pleasantly surprised to achieve distinction level marks for both course-works, which I felt were very weak at the time of submission. It was tough, weekends close to submission deadlines I would push round the clock. You need to figure out what works for you in terms of finding the necessary time and opportunities to keep up. Follow UOL's guidance if you can (2-3 hours study everyday), if you can't find a way to make up for it, ensuring you are still gaining the main thrust of the module.

Is this on-line qualification is well-respected as face-to-face qualification from UOL? Is it recognized by UK government or US government? Anyone possesses the MSc help me clarify this point!
