sanamaryam says
Hello mike guide me how should I start preparing for f4 cbe m giving in January….
MikeLittle says
Get hold of a revision kit / exam kit, and
Get hold of a print out of the December 2014 exam, and
Print off the opentuition mcqs, and
PRACTICE, PRACTICE AND THEN PRACTICE SOME MORE
BUT DO NOT WRITE YOUR ANSWER IN THE EXAM KIT / REVISION KIT
That way, you can do the questions time and time again
Try to do 200 questions each day, EVERY DAY
Don’t worry that it’s taking too long – you will soon speed up to a rate faster than you could begin to imagine
And, if you come across any questions, post again

Thanx mike fr such a useful guidance m gonna give my best in Jan do pray

I hv to take f4 cbe suggest me which book should I study for f4 bpp or Kaplan I hv gud understanding with Kaplan …
MikeLittle says
No help from me on this one – there’s no way that I am going to recommend any one as better than any other.
Frankly, there cannot be much difference as the syllabus is covered by both of them. The essential difference is the style and, even in that, different students have different preferences
Sorry
maira says
Hi. I just wanna know that in this website its mentioned f4 English and f4 global.. but I am having only 1 study text,, corporate and business law (English) so is there any other book also of global? Maira23
MikeLittle says
When you enter for the exam, the exam entry form offers you a choice of variants. English law is one variant. Global law is another. It’s entirely up to you which variant you choose but, given that you have the English variant study material, it would seem sensible to me that you would elect to sit the English variant exam
Ok?
maira says
Thanks. And can you please tell me thats what’s difference between English and global variant? And which one is more useful?
maira says
Thanks. can you please tell me which one is more useful? And as I am having exam on 29.dec. shall I read whole text book or r.kit is enough to get good percentage?
MikeLittle says
Neither is more useful than the other – it really depends what / where you want to work. If in the UK then go for English variant. If elsewhere, go for global.
MikeLittle says
Too late now to start thinking about reading a text. Get a revision kit / exam kit and go through that countless times

Hi, is ACCA aware, that in some countries there is CBE technical problem for F4? We, acting as part-time students, normally get only 3-4 days study leave for each ACCA’s paper from work.
How can CBE centres accept our money, fix the schedule date, day and time for our exam well in advance? Then when we had already took leave and be prepared for the exam, the day before the exam, we receive a call or an e-mail saying that the exam is cancelled!!! This is very a stressing discouraging and demoralisating situation for us!!!!!
How can we again take leave from work for our this exam and study again, again and again, when the exam is reported each time.. The CBE exam though should have been started as from 19th of November 2014. When we will fail because of this situation, ACCA and ACCA’s CBE centres across the world will be fully responsible…. And you think this is flexible????
Hope to get an answer to this very annoying situation as student from your part and please report.
Thanking you all for your attention.
Regards.
Mike says
Hi there,
Pls, is the structure of the F4 paper the same with both CBE and PBE?? If yes, then does it mean you have to type your answers with the CBE??
nafisa says
Hey, Can i please ask in regard to the specimen exam on the ACCA website. This contains 45 multiple choice questions. Can you please confirm if the F4 December 2014 exam will have multiple choice questions too? please reply.
Thank you
Nafisa
MikeLittle says
Oh dear! May I call you Rip van Winkle?
Have you been asleep for the last 2 years?
With effect from December 2014 (November 2014 if you’re looking to do cbe for F4) the F4 exam is multiple choice questions for 70% and multiple task questions for the other 30% (5 tasks, 6 marks each)
OK?
nafisa says
Hello,
I am not looking to do cbe but paper based for F4 December 2014. could you please explain the exam format? will this still be multiple choice questions?
I am sorry but i usually only worry about the exam format a month before the exam i am sitting. I am sitting F4 paper this December and have got myself confused with the changes introduced.
Thank you
Nafisa
nafisa says
So sorry about this. Just read your comment properly. i understand it will be multiple choice questions. Thank you very much.
Maria says
Hello all.
I am a first timer with ACCA and I would like to ask you if taking f4 in December and pass the exam is possible. (I haven’t even bought the book yet). The other option is to take f4 and f7 in June 15. I work part time in a non related field and I am a single mother of 3 young boys. However, I am so determined to take the ACCA exams.
Please advise.
MikeLittle says
Start by listening to the video lectures.
If you’re doing English variant, the videos are all relevant. If you’re doing global, the lectures are relevant from the video on partnership onwards
Get hold of a revision kit and start working through the mcqs. DO NOT mark your answer in the book itself. If you do, then you won’t be able to go over and over the questions, again and again
In addition, if you mark your answers in the book, you won’t be able to sell the book in February when you find out that you’ve passed!
You don’t have to sit F4 in December. If there is a cbe centre near you, then negotiate with them a suitable time for you to do the cbe law paper – maybe in January or February – whenever you feel ready to score more than 50% of the marks available
Hope that helps
Maria says
Thank you so much for your prompt response.
maira says
Hi… this year I took f4 but unfortunately I am not having books. Can you please send me link of f4 revision kit through pdf file? Bpp or kaplan?
basitm3 says
Dear mike,
i gave f4 paper last Dec-2013 but unfortunately failed @ 46 Marks, now f4 paper is CBE, and there is some changes in syllabus. can i retake classes or just buy revision kit and book?
i am part time student.
Please advice.
MikeLittle says
I wouldn’t have thought that it was necessary to retake classes. I would suggest that you acquire a new revision kit or at least get access to a bank of multiple choice questions. There is a specimen exam paper for F4 on this site (both English and Global variants)
In addition, the F4 flash cards could be of use to you.
As I am typing this, you have distracted me from preparing quizzes for F4 both English and Global. Hopefully we can get these up on site in the near future
ok?
basitm3 says
Thank you so much sir,

Hello Acca Tutors,
I salute you all for the endless services you provide for us. By the way, I have a few question to ask concerning the F4 changes this year starting from the 19th of November. Is the CBE Exam going to be in November if so am leaving in the Brunei, can you provide for me which center will be conducting the exam in Brunei. please.
Thanks
MikeLittle says
You have the advantage over me here – I don’t live in Brunei! I shall have to research this on the Internet but isn’t that something that you could do?
rocketbabe says
The ACCA website has a page with a downloadable document that lists the exam centres worldwide. They also have a separate document listing the CBE centres.
pipuni says
does the F4 (Eng) paper available in normal written format in this december? and if so is it going to be the new MCQ structure or is it the normal 10 essay question paper structure?
MikeLittle says
10 essay format has gone! The F4 paper is both paper based and cbe. For those who are not near to a cube licensed premise, paper based is available but it’s not essay format – its mcqs and multi-task format
Ok?
kamlesh says
Helo Mike, How are you buddy ?
i gave this june 2014 F4, F5 in which i passed F5 but failed F4 @46.
now from what i have heard is that F4 was your bridge to BSC degree so if u cleared that you were good to go ahead and take any papers of your choice.
In my case i have heard is that whether i do F4 now or later i must submit an English qualification proof to ACCA then only i can take F7, F8 and F9 other wise i will lose BSC Degree.
can you please help me out in this matter ??
MikeLittle says
May I ask you to post this on the OBU forum where we have specialists to answer this type of problem?
Thanks
michelle says
can i take f5 and f4 the same time? but im part time student
MikeLittle says
I cannot think of any reason why you couldn’t take F4 and F5 in the same sitting (I presume you don’t mean taking them literally at the same time – answering F4 with your left hand and F5 with your right hand!)
adnan1992 says
As i failed f4 this attempt now how i have perpare for my f4 exam. I need bunch of mcq from where can i get that all.. And for obu degree i have to give ielts how much score i have to get..
michelle says
yeah~ me too.. i need more mcq questions to do more preparation
MikeLittle says
Adnan, Michelle – there’s a bit of a problem here, isn’t there!
Being the first time an F4 paper has been set as an mcq exam there is a shortage of mcqs!
However, there are some multiple choice type questions in the F4 quizzes on this site and there are others on the way and will be hopefully with you shortly
Any one of the approved publishers will also have a revised version of their revision kit with many multiple choice questions in it. You’re going to need to acquire a revision kit anyway so that’s where you will find as many mcqs as you could possibly want!
arsal says
when cbe will be available??? for f4?
MikeLittle says
I’ve just replied to this on the message service.
Please do not post multiple repetitive messages. Just one will do

Hello Mike
Thanks for this note about F4 CBE.
This seems a good opportunity to thank you for your all the time and effort you put into the ACCA course material and sharing it with worldwide.
This is much appreciated … and needed by so many!
Again thanks
Peter
MikeLittle says
Hi Peter, thank you for those kind words – they’re much appreciated

I have been following the F4 CBE thread for the last month and would suggest that many of the questions we are thinking of asking (or have asked) should be directed to the ACCA help line.
sinra says
HIi,
I am Sinra, ACCA student from Cambodia.
May I know if F4 Eng eligible to take as CBE in this December 2014.
Thanks
MikeLittle says
This is from the ACCA website …. “for both English and Global and all variant papers, applicable from December 2014 and the introduction of computer based examinations for both English and Global from the end of that year.”
I believe that the latest from ACCA says that they are still finalising details for when CBE will be available
arsal says
so its mean i have to wait till dec? 🙁
MikeLittle says
Arsal!!!! On this site, on the F4 page, the latest hot news is that F4 CBE will be available from November 19
MikeLittle says
Hi again Sinra
The cbe date for F4 is November 19 this year
sinra says
this is good news. I plan to take f4 p1 and p3.
I am not sure if I could take or not.
Any idea, please share me.
MikeLittle says
Hi Sinra
It’s an unusual combination – principally because you are not allowed to start into the P level papers until you have passed all the Fs (or at least you are entered for the remaining Fs not yet passed)
Have you completed (or been exempted or are entered for) the remaining F papers F5 – F9?
If in fact you have passed all the other Fs, then F4, P1 and P3 is achievable. you chances of success depend entirely on how motivated you are and how much time you have available and are willing to devote to your studies. The P level papers are more intellectually challenging than the Fs so they may suit you better or worse than the lower level exams
But, in answer to your original post, yes, you can take that combination (subject to having passed all ….)
sinra says
thanks you so much for update
MikeLittle says
Sinra, you’re welcome
