Mine were totally different. I had the Bicycle company (Gears & Breaks)... I too did not understand what I needed to do there and the Balanced Scoreboard of the Car company which was not bad

For the Gears and Brakes question: Yes they were at full capacity but the question stated they would be doing their normal production as well as the contract. So you had to calculate whether Brakes or Gears were more expensive to purchase, per labour hour. Whichever was more expensive to purchase, you would make as many as possible in-house and then whatever combination was left you would outsource.

Hi all, did somebody here get the mcq on the Trend function T=6000+9y and we got to calculate the quarterly variation and the nr of units for the 11th quarter? I know this is more of MA question and I didn't revise the time series but how did you calculate it? Thanks

So am i the only one who got Budgeting for the 1st question in section "c"? The 2nd one was the building block model. looks i got the lucky end of the stick.

Even I couldn't understand what they were specifically asking us to do like production is already at it's full capacity of course we are going to buy everything from Lithium Co but according to me this question was probably based on Make or buy decisions with limiting factor. I did not want to leave the excel sheet empty so I did the procedure relating to this topic just in case that was what you were actually meant to do.

I've never been so unsure. This was my first time sitting an ACCA exam as I passed AAT Level 4 and I found it hard. I think it's so difficult to actually figure out if what you are writing is correct. I had lots of material mix and yields (which I did not know how to work out). The section C questions were based on the tyre company to complete an ABB budget & then a 20 mark comment on performance of the travel company. I could not remember the calculations so just made lots of general comments. No idea if this gets me any marks or not! Hope you have all done well.

Yes we were given different exam questions. My section C was the same as yours

I figured that each box ticket cost $600 and not that the whole batch of 10 tickets has a cost of $600. Why did you assume that part, when all the other numbers in that table were supposed to be selling price/ticket and variable cost/ticket sold? Maybe i missed some information provided, reading about your answer I'm not so sure, maybe i missed information provided in the scenario.

does anyone remember the answer to the CVP OT case question where they asked for break even sales revenue with target profit for both badminton and rackets?

You firat do the calculation 6,000+9*11 then you subtract 3,500 because the seasonal variations must all total in 0. You had seasonal variations of +4,500 +2,000 -3,000. So you needed -3,500 in order to achieve the forecast sales.

Hi, i am in the same situation as you. in case it was not enought to scrap a pass - how would you plan for a resit? i am thinking to focus only on section C on kaplan , specically only on Decision making technique and Performance measure and control. Any thoughts? i had cost volume Gear and Breaks very similar to a past question from 2012 Robbe Co. i cannot believe how the examiner can pick something old in the exam kit

Yes I thought the same. The section A was much harder then I was anticipating, Section B was ok and for Section C did you get the variances question about the travel company using the V$?

I thought it said in the question it was $600 for the box. It went into more detail underneath ie 10 people in each box and 4 boxes... I thought the calculation regarding the 10 people per box was in relation to the drinks calculation. I calculated that there were 4 boxes so 600 x 4 and then the drinks cost was multiplied by 40 people. Perhaps I understood incorrectly but that's how I answered. I thought the exam was hard and not like any recent past papers. I did find section c easier to deal with than a and b. There were a lot of variance questions too!

I also had the activity based budgeting question but my mind went totally blank!! I wrote that it was more complex and costly, what did you put?

I wrote those two points that u wrote I also wrote time consuming and explained them a bit since this was a 6 mark question. The calculation in part A was quite tough and time consuming did you manage to do it

I really struggled with the spreadsheet part for the budget, I had a go but couldn’t complete all of it and unsure if what I did do was correct or not! I kept coming back to it and doing abit more. Really so unsure of this exam and what the result will be. Did you manage to do the spreadsheet budget?

I was able to do it but I left out one calculation there was just to many details given in a huge paragraph I had to do around 11 workings. The question seemed like a mess it was just huge paragraph with bunch of details thrown in. After the working were done I filled in the details of the over heads space that they gave in the spread sheet. What was the second question you got ? I got calculation of kpi in part A and in part b I got the six dimensions they asked to explain each dimensions ,give the kpi and justify the kpi of each dimensions

The exam for me was a total disaster. With all sleepless night I found it very horrible especially Section C, I didn't know how to answer.

I didn't get the same later questions as you did, I'm really not too confident at all that what I did was correct! I guess time will tell.. We just have to cross our fingers & hope for the best. Let's come back here and post how we got on regardless of the result. Have you all set up to get your results by text at midnight or are you waiting until they go online at 5am?
