PM*** F5 June 2014 Exam was.. Instant Poll and comments ***
If we calculate a wrong variance or a wrong cost and we commented on it according to our answer will we still get marks or not?
Yes Mo i have to give F9 on Friday but couldn't really concentrate!
Ahmed-To be honest with you specfically talking about Q5 Part c) the disscussion was for i think 10 marks in which the requirment stated something along the lines disscuss the performance of sales lalala using ur calculations to part a) AND ...... AND the information provided in the scenario. so im taking a guess 5 marks for disscussion on ur calculations and 5 marks from the information provided in ur scenario if u answer the discussion part well u should atleast get 5/10 for that requirment based on the fact that u did make some really good points from the information provided.
i have a question to ask to everyone did anyone flex the budget for part c Q5?
Sabyna13- I think both of us are right but im sure your answer too was based on the contribution per unit being calculated by multiplying the c/s ratio given for each service as a percentage to the selling prices provided in the information.and if our contribution figures are correct for each service there's no way the answer could be wrong if u calculate the sales volume variance (the basic variance for sales) you should get the same total provided your calculating the sales volume variance for both services separately.
Thanks for your insight!! I guess we'll have to wait till the results then no point discussing all that is done and dusted! The answers are usually posted 2 weeks before the results so we would have some idea till then ! :/
Same. completed the graph in pencil though my whole answer was perfect. 4 students in my class have also completed the graph in pencil. Even our lecturer did not stress the point that we complete in black pen. hard luck indeed.
wthhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@' you had to complete the graphh in blackk pen?????? i completed it with pencil labeld every thing every single thing on the graphhh with black pen. before i started the graph i asked the invigilator she said draw in pencill and label with blackk penn????????????/ i labeled everything with black pen would that make a difference???????
wthhhhh is wrong with these lecturers since when in ur entire life in the uk have u ever been expected to draw a freaking graph with pen you always draw graph's in pencils? yes labelling you could do with black pen.?!!!!!!!!!!!!!???????????/ grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Excuse me, how to get the contribution function?
Guys,
Can anyone suggest that,
The possible outcome the question needed 6 only but I calculated more than that will I gain some mark?
Did anyone sit it in Birmingham? We definitely didn't get reminded of those instructions
I saw lots of people with different colour pens, i only bring black just incase i forget and start answering in blue ink or pencil.
No highlighter even, I just underline / make notes in black ink on question paper, you dont need 5-6 different colour pens for ACCA exam.
Also so many people with no ruler.
Opentuition tips remain the best! F5 was OK, I did manage, but the linear prog quest, my scale went wrong! Feel a bit bad! Rest was okay.
i so agree with your sentiments it was easy as well as time was a very important factor
Every single thing should be done with a black pen, even a graph or decision tree diagram for that matter
Hi Michael, got the same answer for linear programing and i was very confident, dont know where i did wrong though..
1,2,4 question is ok..dont know whether my ans correct or not. question 3 i totally dont know how to do, transfer pricing question is totally blank. q5 regarding the contribution is quite tricky, maybe i do wrong, hope can get some mark over there. really pray hard can pass bcz i dont want resit.
We were given C/S ratio and we were given selling price hence we substitute the two into an equation eg C/($22 selling price)=40%..that way u find the contribution amount which u use in the sales mix contribution variance when converting your variance into monetary form.. in ABC the fixed cost per quarter were supposed to be multiplied by 3..as we all know there are 3 quarters in a year...as for the batch etc bit go to BPP revision kit mock exam 2 at the back..same question, glad i tackled it
Thanks to John for showing us the video for the Minimax. Maximin question on the 6 possible outcomes it sounded straight forward and worked it out like how John showed us in his lectures..... i did it as a column and not a payoff table or decision tree like most did... I hope this is the correct way....
I can't view my replies :-(
Can you post the answers for F5 Sir John?
The exam was good,but challenging.
My answer to question 1 is now available to download from the main ACCA page.
The other answers will follow over the next few days.
@John Moffat
Sir, for the product X, since the prices is seem like no differ,
can I gave the answer that there will no be any changes in price even sale volume?
That's fine - as my answer states, the difference is minimal.
Sir,
For the question 2, how mark will be located for part B calculation for slack? Because I run out of time to completed for implication I just done for calculation!
And question 3 I calculated the turnover as net assets/turnover will gain any mark?
