Gillian Moorse is a brilliant and knowledgeable mentor. I have learnt a lot from her mentorship and she made the whole preparation and submission of the research report considerably easier to understand. I highly recommend her to anyone looking to submit their RAP for the first or later attempts.
Thank you Gillian!October 17, 2019 at 2:58 pm #549889@pejz

Footnote from Gillian- Thank you TLL for your good wishes – I think we all need to thank OpenTuition too on behalf of our past students for giving us this platform so that future students can find quality mentorship. All the best to you!
January 5, 2020 at 11:24 am #556857I passed my RAP on first attempt, I got a grade B which was what I needed to achieve a 2:1 degree. I think I completed the project in just less than two months while working full time.
I couldn’t have achieved this without my mentor Gillian Moorse. She was supportive throughout and very knowledgeable. I’d never written any work like this so I needed lots of guidance. To start Gillian provided several documents that posed questions and got me thinking in the right way to approach the RAP, and then continued support throughout with video calls and email. We also had set reviews to ensure I was on the right track.
I think Gilian was slightly more expensive than other mentors I initially looked at but well worth it, she has a lot of experience and is generous with her time. I’d recommend her to anyone.

March 6, 2020 at 10:58 pm #564722Hi Gillian. I wish to have you as my mentor. Please confirm your availability.
March 7, 2020 at 10:40 am #564777Thank you for your ‘vote of confidence’.
It is now though getting a bit late for May submissions (in fact I also limit the number of students so that they receive the personal service they need). I believe other reputable mentors do the same so you may find that unless there are pressing reasons (e.g. you only have the one submission opportunity remaining and it must be May) most mentors will want you to work towards a November submission now.
To contact an Open Tuition mentor you need to go through their websites (if you go to page one of this thread you will find links to both mine and that of The Learning Luminarium and from there contact details). For other mentors there is a list on the University mentoring portal or email OBU and request the list.
[I do have a colleague who is still on the marking team who may still have some capacity so use the above details to email my website direct]. However I think that you would need to start on your work immediately and know you have the time to commit to it fully over the next 2 months if you are to be successful with a May submission whomever you used as a mentor.
Good luck!
March 7, 2020 at 11:23 am #564785Thanks for the response. I will contact you through your website.
RegardsMarch 28, 2020 at 7:59 pm #566067Gillian Moore was my mentor for the P39 submission. She is a brilliant, professional and knowledgeable mentor. Her mentorship is first class, providing constructive feedback that inspired and gave me confidence to carry out my research. I’ve learnt alot of valuable lessons throughout my mentorship and will forever be grateful for this experience.
I highly and passionately recommend Gillian Moore as a mentor. I achieved an A grade for my project, first submission. Thank you Gillian, it was a great pleasure to be your mentee.
March 29, 2020 at 8:25 am #566078I passed my RAP in Period 39 and would highly recommend The Learning Luminarium! I was assigned to Irwin but I’m sure the other mentors are equally as good. As long as you are willing to put in the work, and with the support and guidance of their mentors, you will definitely pass your RAP.
I’m extremely grateful to Irwin for his patience and guidance throughout the whole project. He’s always quick in responding to any questions that I had and providing feedback that allowed me to improve the quality of my report.
Thanks Irwin, it was great working with you!

If you are reading this, I can assure you that her experience and knowledge is impeccable and she understands the needs of her mentee really well.

Sahil OberoiMarch 30, 2020 at 4:20 pm #566163Gillian Moorse was my mentor for P39. It was my last chance, one chance only submission as I was at the end of the ten year limit.
I can recommend Gillian as a mentor. Gillian’s guidance and advice gave me confidence with my research and helped me structure my report giving tailored advice throughout the process.
I received an A grade for my report and now have a degree with first class honours. I’m so happy with my result.
April 5, 2020 at 12:36 pm #566565Gillian Moorse is a great mentor. She was my mentor for the Period 39 and I passed! As I failed my first submission few years ago, I was very afraid to try again. Gillian managed to build up my confidence and provided very helpful and smart guidance, which made the whole process of the project preparation understandable and easy.
I’m very grateful to Gillian and highly recommend her as a mentor!April 7, 2020 at 10:55 pm #566793Hello there from St.Lucia.I passed the OBU RAP on my first attempt and thus, I would like to give a special thanks to my mentor Irwin from The Learning Luminarium. For three months, Irwin meticulously guided me through the whole RAP process . He was very professional and extremely patient and he challenged me to see things from various angles and think deeper on the subject. During our meetings, I was able to discuss various parts of the project that I was struggling with and Irwin was always ready to share his point of view that helped me to see things in a different light. This greatly improved my overall understanding of the RAP and directed me during my research. Furthermore, despite the 12 hour time difference, Irwin gladly accommodated my meeting times which were unusual due to my working hours.Outside of our scheduled meetings, he gladly made himself available to comment on any ideas and queries that I had. I am extremely grateful for his guidance and I encourage anyone who needs a mentor for the OBU RAP to join The Learning Luminarium. Thanks Irwin.
May 6, 2020 at 11:00 am #570144Oh wow~! Let me show my best salute and gratitude to The Learning Luminarium. And this is the must to drop my recommendation here to everyone 🙂 I just experienced the best guidance from mentor Irwin there, and it is unbelievable I’ve just completed my project and submitted it today. Indescribable feelings! Btw I’m fully satisfied and proud of my finished work, which I never believe I was able to! All because of you, thx mentor 😀
October 8, 2020 at 8:53 am #587690I just passed period 40 on my first attempt. I would like to express my utmost gratitude to my mentor, Irwin, from The Learning Luminarium (TLL).
Irwin is very experienced and knowledgeable. With his clear guidance, I gained a better picture of the project. Besides, he is very responsive. He answered questions and gave feedback very promptly. Thanks to Irwin, I managed to complete my RAP within 2 months’ time while working my full-time job. Without his helps, I doubt that I could pull through this.
With TLL, I assure you that you will be in good hands. I would highly recommend TLL to anyone, who is looking for an excellent mentor for their obu projects.
October 8, 2020 at 10:22 am #587699I have successfully completed my BSc in the period 40 on my first attempt with B grade and 1st class degree. I would like to express my utmost gratitude to my mentor, Mr. Adrian Tan, from The Learning Luminarium (TLL).
Through Mr Adrian’s guidance and critical feedback and evaluation of each little element in the RAP, I managed to complete my RAP within 2 months’ time while working full-time job and studying for an ACCA paper. His analysis of the RAP helped me understand and develop a critical and broader view of how to tackle such Research and Analysis report.
I was also the first recipient of the Scholarship that is offered by the TLL and I would highly recommend all the students to go check it out and try to avail it.
Good luck to the future class of OBU BSc.
October 8, 2020 at 11:18 am #587708Earlier today, I received my OBU BSc results for P40 and had managed to attain first class honours on first attempt. I would like to share my experience with The Learning Luminarium.
Initially I was feeling lost and looking for recommendation in this forum. I saw multiple good reviews about Learning Luminarium and decided to inquire about the details of the programme. I first spoke with Adrian Tan, he was extremely responsive and very helpful in answering my questions.
Subsequently, I signed up for their programme and Irwin is my mentor. I would describe Irwin as someone who is highly knowledgeable and exceptionally passionate in teaching/mentoring who wholeheartedly share his expertise to provide the best guidance for students attempting their RAP. Throughout this period, Irwin felt more like a friend than a mentor, it could be due to the support and advice that he had provided which lead to my success in my RAP.
To my fellow ACCA mates, if you are thinking of taking up OBU RAP, do consider The Learning Luminarium and I assure you that you will not regret it. 🙂
Cheers!!!!!!
October 8, 2020 at 12:56 pm #587718Absolutely recommend Gillian Moorse!
I failed P39 and decided to take on P40 with only one month of time left. I am not in the same time zone as UK, so slightly apprehensive about overseas tutor. Decided to try it after seeing good comments on her mentoring. True enough, she is very on time on the reviews and critical about the shortcomings and helpful to know where to help. Its is a tight month to revise the RAP report, but I did it with her constant help!Thank you Gillian Moorse!
October 9, 2020 at 11:07 am #587807Gillian Moorse was my mentor too and I cannot recommend her enough! Her dedication, knowledge, guidance and experince is outstanding. Her feedback was timely and invaluable. Thank you so much Gillian for helping me gain my degree.
October 10, 2020 at 11:07 pm #588551Gillian Moorse was my mentor and with her dedication and expertise, it was crystal clear to me that I will get an ‘A’ grade on my first attempt. The results just confirmed my gut feeling. Through her excellent mentoring service, I am proud to have scored an ‘A’ in my Research Project and obtained a First Class Honours degree. She is very flexible in adjusting plans to changing circumstances, extremely professional, and very detailed in her reviews. She gives you the opportunity to learn and actually grow in your research writing skills. I don’t see a reason she can mentor you without getting an excellent grade.
Thanks a lot dear Gillian!
To colleagues thinking about writing your Research Project, consider working with her and I promise you will never regret it just as I did not.
October 15, 2020 at 12:31 pm #588992I passed OBU BSc with Upper Second Class in Period 40. It was my first resubmission. My mentor was Irwin Loh, from The Learning Luminarium. One of my friends had been his mentee in a previous session and had highly spoken of him. From the very first communication with Irwin through email, I knew I opted for the right mentor.
Throughout my submission, he has been really helpful and proactive in providing invaluable feedback. Although we were geographically distant, he has been flexible enough to put up with my queries till end. He is a knowledgeable, experienced and extremely enthusiastic mentor. On our first meeting, we started off with my failed sheet. The way he highlighted the point of my failure, had immediately made me realise what I was missing out. My whole overview towards the RAP has changed.
Completing my RAP under Irwin’s guidance has been a life changing experience. He has been really persuasive till the end. Though my RAP was capped at C, due to re-submission clause, I’m extremely satisfied with the quality of how I finished it.
Kudos to Irwin and the TLL team. Highly recommending them to my fellow professionals in their RAP. Good Luck!
October 22, 2020 at 6:53 pm #591133I would like to recommend Gillian Moorse as an exceptional mentor for OBU RAP.
With her help I was able to pass on first attempt, furthermore OBU has informed me that I have been awarded the Simon Williams Prize for the best research and analysis project for Period 40Gillian’s help has been extremely valuable, starting with practical guidance on how to start and structure the RAP, as well as guiding me in relevant directions and answering any questions I had along the way.
There is no way that I could achieve this result without her guidance, as I had never done such a project before.
Thank you Gillian and thank you Open Tuition for all the resources you made availableNovember 2, 2020 at 3:11 pm #593855With many years of experience and a decorated track record to prove it, Gillian is a renowned mentor that knows what the marker wants to see and will guide you to write a report that ticks all those boxes for a well-written one.
I personally have had the pleasure of working with Gillian for my research report and my results for a first-attempt submission have only validated her expertise and qualifications as an OBU RAP mentor.
She knows her way around the marker’s mind and does not hesitate to point out any flaws and zero-pointers in your draft report. Her flexibility in adapting to your schedule and circumstances is also a major highlight and a necessity for those who are geographically distant.
An outstanding and professional mentor, Gillian has been supportive and reliable until the final submission day. I would not have been able to attain the highest grade for my report without her help.
Congratulations to all the students who have passed, well done to Gillian and the other mentors on this website, and good luck to the future students who will be undertaking the OBU RAP.
March 24, 2021 at 12:26 am #615073Achieved an A grade with Gillian Moorse, very unexpected, but also given me the confidence to kick on.

GeorgeMarch 26, 2021 at 9:02 am #615216Passed first time with a B grade! Very happy with the result considering it had been over 10 years since university first time around.
A huge thank you to Gillian Moorse (Absolute Mentoring). Very professional and friendly, couldn’t have done it without her help with what was a daunting task in a challenging year.
I would highly recommend Gillian for anyone starting out on their OBU RAP journey.
