Can you please share your exam technique with me? What made you pass? What did you do differently when revising for this 5th occasion? I just failed for a 3rd time.

I attended a BPP question day which really helped but the main thing I believe was I this time I started with a section B question and really stuck to my timings. That meant I at least attempted all the sections in all questions. And lots of question practice. Good luck for the next sitting, I know how you feel but you will do it

Also failed with 34%, really thought I had done better. Oh well, roll on September!! No point giving up now.

Thank you so much. I was thinking to do section B first as I am better with shorter scenarios and ensure I stick to strict time management . So you did one Section B, then section A them the second question in section B?

James, was this your first attempt? In Sept I will do Section B first with stricter time management
LLaura8y ago#43
Try P7 (advanced audit), that's what I'm going to do ?
JJagoda8y ago#44
Finally passed and affiliate after several attempts with 61%, so so happy

Mona, what % did you fail with each time? All 3 attempts for me were 34% which is more than weird. I will call ACCA.

What did you do differently in your exam revision to finally pass after so many attempts?
HHelen8y ago#47
50% pass. Finally affiliate. Well done all.
Bbernadetta8y ago#48

WWallace8y ago#49
I was thinking that I need several attempts on P5. But I am glad I got 55% for my 1st attempt!! One subject P7 left now til to become affiliate, Hoping to get a clean sheet to finish all exams on 1st attempt thanks for the free material sources and notes from open tuition!!!

Passed on my first attempt with 77% and am now qualified... So happy to be finished the exams - there are times when you think you'll never get there!

Yes this was first attempt, exam technique was all wrong and spent too much time on question 1 and ended up without enough time to really do Section B. Will go back to using the first 15 minutes to plan Question 1 answer and then have a cut off time in the plan for doing the two questions in Section B. Hopefully this technique works!!

@6shahir said: First of all, all praise to God!. Im done with ACCA and just the joy is elating to my head. Thanks OT for their help and support. My Plevel marks p1-66 p2-67 p3-70 p4-68 p5-57 P5 is kinda hard if u cant time it. Cheers folks and nothing is impossible.
Congratulations! Please can you share your study methods including how you practise past papers? Do you attempt alone first or do you read the tutorial answer first and learn it then attempt to answer under timed conditions?

congrats mwangala

i was hoping for pass marks as the exam went well in compare to my previous attempts but i am sad and shocked to received only 46%. This was my 3rd attempt and i am really disappointed. It seems the examiner is trying to make the things difficult otherwise there should have been good pass rates as the questions was fair. :(
JJannie8y ago#55
Passed on my second attempt with 50%! Only P4 left now; so stoked!
Ssaqibh8y ago#56
Passed 50 second attempt. Feeling too very much happy. 1 more to go.
JJames8y ago#57
Interesting to note that pass rate as per this survey is tied with P7, proving that these are still very hard papers to pass.
Dds3ce8y ago#58
It would be nice if those of you who successfully passed p5 would share how exactly you prepared to pass p5 (first attempt or not, doesn't matter). Thank you

Hi All, P5- after 3rd tempt, I finally passed this paper with 63%. It is my final paper and still feel unreal. P5 is the hardest paper ( have tried 3 times, 45, 43 and 63). This paper is hard because the question wording, especially if you are second language user can be very tough. I wish all the best to you all. Kind Regards,

Congrats! What have you changed in your study/revision technique to better prepare for a pass mark?
