@More9 said: MY ACCA STORY: I know Acca can be frustrating particularly when you are battling with a single paper for years. The journey of my Acca was beyond imagination. I planned to finished Acca within 2-3 years, but i must tell you i finished at the time limit which is 10years, though i missed a whole year. which mean i wrote ACCA for 9years. I have been battling with APM since June 2013 scoring marginal scores which is 40-49. Although, some years i didn't do full diet. After December 2015 that i didn't passed APM, I switched to ATX(Advanced tax) with the hope it would be better, unfortunately it wasn't better after writing it three times (Dec.2016, June &Sept 2017). Then i said to myself let me go back to APM because time was not on my side any more. March 2018, I wrote APM again the exam was fantastic for me i was so sure i would pass, unfortunately when the result came i failed. I was so angry to the point i requested for administrative review, same story same score no changes. September 2018, i wrote again still failed, but the score was marginal.I was scared because i have an already passed paper which is P2 now SBR at risk. I was confused, devastated but i still hope in God. A friend of mine advised me to attend those intensive class. I did findings on it, so i proceed. The lecture was so helpful because i got new insight to the best way and format to tackle the exam. I went for the exam December 2018 at a point in the exam i was confused, i wasn't sure if i was given what the examiner what he want. After the exam, i couldn't stop praying to God for his mercy and intervention. Here comes January 14,2019 the result was released i was so scared, i couldn't checked it, my stomach didn't stop rumbling. Finally, i checked the result and i was so happy when all i can see is passed. I passed with 56% so grateful to God for it. Moral Lesson: 1. Don't give up on your dream be persistent 2. Always remember you are not a failure but it is circumstance that fails 3. Keep up the good attitude of you can.. 4. At the end you will excel... To those who are yet to qualify, pls don't give up. Keep persevere you will surely win... All the best. A big thank you to open tuition cos there materials is always helpful.... God be with you alllllACCA story is almost 8 years gone. Though I missed few setting and I have very struggling life to live with my big family and less earnings. 100 times I decide to leave ACCA then I realize no we born to fight. I have only AAA and APM remaining and have to finish within 2020. Your story regain my strength and I will restart again. THanks dude. May ALMIGHTY always be with you for the rest of your life.
@maryannakujobi said: Please who knows if ACCA has updated their affliate list or who has checked and seen their names (I couldn’t find my name on the database). Thank youYou have to log onto ACCA e-business and tick the box saying you would like to appear on the list of passed finalists. My name was not there initially but after I checked the box it now appeared on there a day or 2 later.
@aparnadealwis which did u find harder cima or acca?
I am encouraged by your story. I have only APM left and this is the 5th time I did not pass it. I got 49 and was extremely sad. But I will take it one more time in March and I trust that it will be a success and great end to this journey. God bless you.
Thank you Chris ??
Hello Everyone
I passed APM with 66%.
I am a bit curious now, what should I do to know who was the candidate who got
Highest Mark or Percentage in the December 2018 sitting for APM..???
Please kindly advise me.
Failure is part of life. U need to take it as a Challenge.
Do not lose hope.
Please dont give up. I used 3 years to pass this paper. This is my 8th attempt and finally I go through it.
Hi Guys
I'm considering changing my option from AAA to APM. I do much better with numbers/calcs than words and feel this could be the right move.
I'm trying to pass my final option and I've already completed ATX.
Does anyone have any advise?
Thanks
Steph

Thanks StephHi Steph, Although there are calculations involved in APM, You need to know that there is a lot of words and writing involved as well, the first question is always a report, to be honest, there is no much getting away from theories/words/writing in APM as well as AAA. I wrote both AAA and APM and in terms of writing/words, I could see no huge difference between them. Much of the marks in APM is awarded for your analysis and interpretation of the figures and not the calculations itself which usually carry few marks. if you feel you would do better with APM, then give it a try, but do not expect fewer words/theories here. Be prepared. I wish you all the best.
I agree with kaffie - APM is primarily a wordy paper. There are not many marks available for straight calculations. Often you are given a calculation which has already been performed and asked to analyse its meaning or criticise how it was performed, rather than perform it yourself.
If you want to do a more numerical paper you may be better off choosing AFM. But even that still has a fair amount of writing and analysis involved. At the Strategic Professional level there is no getting away from writing I'm afraid.
