Congrants to all the affiliates and those who have passed, this subjects it is causing me headache and I do not what technique to apply on it, eeeeeshi.

Passed with exactly 50%- that's me done with ACCA !!!! Bit too close for comfort but I don't care...just the Ethics & PER to complete!!!
KimKimTutor7y ago#34
Martina - a lot has changed even since 2014, so worth investing in an ACCA-Approved Revision Kit for question practice that has been updated to reflect the style and standard of the new exam (since September 2018) and the more recent auditing and financial reporting standards (ISA 700 series, IFRSs 15 and 16 in particular). You don't want to be wasting study time on obsolete material.

@chullbulla My lil advice: stay put; don't change paper. Your learning curve starts all over again if you change paper. For APM, inbox me on [email protected] for a few stuff that could make the difference you desire.

@mb79 said: thank you - just a quick question, does the exam kit state to which past paper does question relate to?
Yes it should do
KimKimTutor7y ago#37
@chullbulla said: What is the main difference between AAA UK variant and INT? also will OT lectures cover the INT variant?
The syllabuses are the same except that in F (Other assignments), section 4 is the audit of performance information in INT syllabus (see Chapter 31 of our notes) and auditing aspects of insolvency in UK syllabus (see Chapter 32 of our notes).

I got 60%, first attempt my tips are: 1)Know the IAS and the IFRS by heart and apply in the question 2)Do all questions, dont prolong on a question 3)Do Past Papers, especially most recent 4)Read the question requirements and then read the question 5)Re work the past papers several times 6)Mnemonics 7)Explain your answer in detail

@chullbulla said: Thanks I have failed APM 5 times and thinking of switch, is AAA doable without any Audit work experience?
Doable - yes - but why are you failing APM? I suggest you take a look at ACCA's "Retake guide" (available here https://www.accaglobal.com/gb/en/student/exam-support-resources/professional-exams-study-resources/p5.html) and consider if there's something fundamental in your approach to tackling the exam that can be addressed before starting over with a new exam to prepare for.

Failed first sitting with 43% and I know why. I haven't done ANY ratio calculations, just forgot formulas and didn't have time. Completed Q2, Q3 and left Q1 at the end, only done it for 30-40%. And here we are, 7 marks short.

Checkout the "Retake study guide" available at https://www.accaglobal.com/uk/en/student/exam-support-resources/professional-exams-study-resources/p7/retake-guides.html - this provides tips for success and signposts essential resources. Also read the "How to tackle the AAA exam" article at https://opentuition.com/acca/aaa/ As it sounds as though you expected to pass if you had not problems with your calculator the main thing to do is not get bored with the subject matter - there are lots of exciting exam questions - attempt them in the time allowed and thoroughly review your answers. And on the exam day - take a spare calculator. Good luck!

the same to me .

Passed on second attempt, luckily I got exactly 50% (was expecting between 60%-70%) but anyway thank you god this terrible time-pressured paper of basically writing forever is out of the way. Past papers for me is the best way to get over the line, that's all I used.

be happy with what you got!
