    Hi All,
I am sadly failed again. This is my 3rd attempt. I have got twice 48 marks, but this time I only got 23marks. I was in shock, considering I thought I have done very well in the exam. I start to think ACCA made mistake for my marks or I have forgot to tick the option question i have answered on the front sheet.

Anyway, I used the old material, which was for 2011, prior to the exam, i have asked if there is any changes for this paper and open tuition people advice me no change… so i studied with old paper (2011 int) but for exam i ticked UK stream, because that was new rule if you are in uk you should do uk stream???

I am not sure what has contribute to my exceptional low marks? I consider pay for a administrative review? do you think it is worth it ?

I am at my lowest point at the moment, I only have two option papers left to complete since 2010, then I had two babies since… which I couldn’t attend a few years of exams. I am so stressed with the new 7 years rule. ACCA saying they will scrap you off If you haven’t complete the professional level in 7 years, however if you have life changing events ( such having babies and illness, my children need some special care) they give no consideration to people’s circumstance?

why is this rule fair? they say this is relevant to the knowledge, however, is that mean some “old” accountant who passed their exams years ago, their knowledge would not relevant to todays business, they also need retake the exams?

I really feel all these are money making scheme, I am deeply regret go into ACCA, I should have done the CIMA.

I need your advice on above points, some directions, I really appreciate any advice you may have.

    many thanks

    Jane

I stand by my previous advice – not a lot has changed since 2010.

Don’t waste your money on an administrative review!

Get back into P2 – yes, P2 – and revise IAS and IFRS

Go over and over again and again the past exam answers written by the examiner and note style, depth, sentence construction, layering of discussion, collections of similar thoughts – the whole generality of the answers.

A mark of 23 is a major fall from high 40s and is not simply down to you indicating UK instead of International. Let’s face it, the difference between the two is now so minimal that UK variant has been removed from F8 and it’s only a matter of time before the same happens at P7 level

Jane, starting as soon as family demands allow, download all the past exams since December 2007 inclusive and start reading!

And don’t worry about the new 7 year rule. The ACCA change the rules every 7 years or so and with each change the clock starts running again.

Angyfash, why have you asked this on a thread that has no bearing on your question?

    ?????

I have actually answered a question very similar to yours today. May I ask that you check the Ask the Tutor page for the last 4 or 5 threads and see the previous answer that I gave

Then, if you still have a question, post again
