    example:
Because computers are machines, the information they produce will always be correct. Is the above statement true or false? A True B False
B Remember: garbage in, garbage out

GIGO means the computer is always correct as it is user error, and the machine simply produced the results based on the incorrect data input! 2+4 = 6 and that is correct answer even if you meant to type 2+2.

I answered B (False) because i’m an experienced senior computer programmer who knows that it depends on whether you have computer hardware failure, or incorrect programming in the first place.

Although I got that question right, it was not because of GIGO, in fact that only tells me the answer is True and is very misleading. Its no wonder people fail these exams a lot with such poor examples given.

The question does not ask whether or not the computer is correct, it is asking whether the information produced will always be correct.

The information produced will not always be correct because, as you state, although the computer may be working correctly, the date inputted may have been incorrect.

This was a past exam question and is perfectly valid.
