    Hey…

Just wanted to know if there’s anyone out there who has had their exam papers remarked and if so, what was the outcome?

I failed F8 48%…thought I did better then this, but being so close to getting 50% I’m wondering if it’s worth getting my paper reviewed.

    Thanks

I don’t think they will find anymore marks for you as at 48 it would have been marked 3 times already including the examiner.

You do always have the option to pay for a review but like I say its unlikely to change the result.

    Sorry if it seems harsh.

No you’re not being harsh…I was kinda thinking too that the result is unlikely to change as I’ve heard many times the papers are reviewed by other markers, just wanted to get other peoples experiences on it.

    Thanks

I had a marginal failure and was also wondering if anyone had experience of an admin review. Sounds like this is just another way for ACCA to make money.

    Don’t bother.
They will summarise each question you completed with a pass or fail (no percentage mark – no explanation for mark) and then send you a copy of the answers.

Not worth it – save your money for the resit paper!

Starfish has hit the nail on the head – marginal fails are automatically reviewed twice more before they are issued. Don’t even bother requesting a review.

Ahhh … it’s so frustrating.. I really thought I got about 65% when I sat the exam. And I only got 47%
I think even though it might be a waste of money I won’t be happy till I get it reviewed.

Did anyone ever get it changed?

    It will never be changed

The result is sealed, don’t waste your money and move on..
December exams only few months away

    Good luck 😉

yeah I just read the admin review page on ACCA- and it doesn’t recheck the marks just the admin in the calculation as far as I can make out!!
I ran through my answers again and am sure I should have got about 60%..

    I got 36% in P3.
This must be a mistake (yes I know thatis what they all say).

I was confident when I left the exam, and when I read the answers on the ACCA website mine were definately along the right lines.

I sent off for an admin review yesterday in the hope I will be one of the few people whose mark actually succummed to human error.

All I want is my paper remarked but that this doent happen, I will never be able to accept that this is an accurate reflection of my performance in the exam and to be honest I actually feel pretty bitter about it.

Has anyone else been in this situation??

I dont think they will change anything in review but however i think its the appeal that can possibly change it. But you have to get a review done before you can appeal. I failed P3 on 49 and i m sending my review form tomorrow. Hopefully reviewer will not be drunk and will add up my marks properly….
best of luck to others who r sending for reviews….

I have just had my admin reviw back from the ACCA for P3 and they have advised that I answered question 1(PASS), 3(FAIL) and 4(FAIL), however I actually answered 1, 2 and 3.

Looks like I am up for an interesting conversation with them tomorrow!!!

Keeping my fingers crossed that they have messed up and not marked my paper properly.

    Yellowhat,

That was quick, I didn’t think they were getting back to students until the 20th onwards. Can I ask if you are based in the UK…perhaps the UK students receive their reviews results quicker.

Good luck with your call tomorrow and let us know how you got on.

How did you receive the results of your admin review?

I didnt expect a response until the 20th either, but it came through the post yesterday.

Hopefully it wasn’t sent out in error and isn’t actually totally incorrect.

Well, I had to chase for a week but I have had my review back (again) and I got 67%, and passed all my questions.
I can’t believe the ACCA messed up so bad!!
Just glad it is all over.

    Congratulations…well done.

Can’t believe the mistakes that are being made…the fact that they failed the exam and also the first admin review.

It’s worrying…you didn’t pass by just 1 or 2 marks, but you got 67%. If you hadn’t been persistent with them you would have been sitting this exam again…in a way wasting your time and money.

    Thanks Raz,

Yes it is worrying that they not only marked the exam incorrectly, but also that the admin review was wrong, especially when they go on about all the checks they do to make sure they dont make errors.

I still dont know what went wrong, whether I got the wrong persons mark, or whether they didnt scan my script properly, I just hope they didnt do it to anyone else.

At least this is proof that if something doesnt seem right then it is worth taking it further.

That is terrible as they have made unaccepted mistakes.

I failed P1 and P3 this time, I dont believe that I failed as I answered 4 questions with result 22 and 29.

Yellowhat, I did not as my friends had reviewd and nothing changed and waste money and hope.

If not late I might try as I do believe the marks unbelieveable low to me as I knew how much time I spent on and done the quality work.
