RE: P2 Study advice

MMissP11y ago
Hi I have a question regarding the next coming weeks. After attempting my course exam for bpp I realised how little I know about P2 and how much work I need to put in. However I have an exemption from F7 and so I would like to some advice on how I can structure and focus my study. I don't know how effective doing past paper son something I don't know is, however I don't want to spend tooo much time learning the whole syllabus. Please do advise, I also have a question day at the end of this month and ideally would like to prepared for that.

Use F7 to help you study for P2. Work through the F7 consolidations (past exam questions) That will serve two functions - it will get you better prepared for F7 at the same time as cementing a better base upon which to build your P2 work Watch the P2 lectures on this site and try applying that knowledge to past exam questions. You'll not get far because, of necessity, the course examples are the basis for the higher skills, but they are a sound basis. Work through the printed solutions bearing in mind your new found knowledge of what, in principle, is meant to be happening And next time (if there is a next time) don't leave it so late ..... less than 5 weeks to the exam!!!! ???? What have you been doing for the last 5 months?

I wrote that I have an exemption for F7.. So I don't see the need to revise F7? Also I didn't have 5 months to study.. started classes in September and been going to evening classes as I work full time and run a not for profit organisation, and preparing for my other ACCA paper. Amongst other things, since you asked lol. I think I have found a technique on the groups account for now although I do find the adjustments quite overwhelming... As the paper is 60% written, have you got any guidance or advise on how to go about studying and learning for this? I thought about going through the IAS/IFRSs for each topic so I have the basic knowledge and understanding for those types of questions. What do you suggest?

Hi, no offence intended! As for the rest of the paper, read, read and read again the past exam questions and answers. Over and over and over again and again! Hope that helps!
