What tanahteck79 said is quite right...you must be satisfied that the info you use is accurate and reliable....otherwise you should not use it...and therefore you have to be extra vigilant with data from websites and do all your checks before you use it.

And as tanahteck79 said, a reference list with a variety of sources shows you did a bit of reading around.....however, remember that any "articles", newspapers and journals which have been accessed online (as opposed to paper versions) have to referenced slightly differently to the paper versions....as per the ACCA OBU instructions.

I also was under the impression that a bibliography is not required (unlike a reference list...which is essential). However, in the end I did have a very short bibliography of about 5 articles/books i'd read but not actually used/quoted in the final report.
You may well find that there are books/articles that you used in your decision making or research, but which did not make it into the final RAP, so these could be included in a bibliography.

Hi all... I am just putting my final touches to my project and was wondering about the Appendices.. do I include a copy the 3 year financial Statements of just extracts from them... or both? Also Do I have to show my formulas in my excel sheet to show how I got the ratios???

Hi Leemce, base on my experience, i think you can breakdown the appendix in this manner:-

appendice 1: List of reference
appendice 2: Statement of financial position and Statement of comprehensive income. Please compile into a sheet using excel and don't print out what you see in the report otherwise your appendice be very thick.
appendice 3: The formula that were used in the RAP
appendice 4: For here, i make it into a 6-column showing the calculation of the financial ratios for both companies. However do remember to show the extract in your main report. Meaning to extract the final figures to show in the report. The presentation is also one of the criteria for IT literacy.

I dont think i quite agree with you there...
The guide is pretty clear in saying that they wan actual extract of relevant pages from the annual report....I dont think compilation in an excel sheet would do the good..

Of course you can attach extracts the relevant pages from the annual report based on the guide. What i given is only a suggestion (not an answer) and based on what i've done. Maybe we can check with fellow graduates :) ...........Techno, what's your stand?

thanks for your reply. I understandwhat you mean by submitting the excel format of the BS and Income statement.
Just having a few issues with showing how my ratios were calculated.. but I should get that sorted today.. fingers crossed!!

This will be too late as submission period has ended however, you should have contacted OBU about this. I did the same too by showing excerpts from my excel sheet and when contacted, they said this was sufficient to serve as IT evidence but you have to remember that there is a limit to the number of appendices - check the project guide.

Hi unzablu,

In my opinion you do not need to specifically visit the companies as long as you can get sufficient info via annual and media reports or other means.

hi i am doing topic 8 i have collected all the information required and im planning to prepare the rap on tesco but im still a bit unsure if its a good idea coz its quite a big company and the info is easily available so it might be considered as a easy project and im also concerned about arranging the information and what to write in the literature review as i havnt done anything like this in the past, i called oxford brookes about a month ago and they said there would be a sample project available on acca website soon but i still cant seem to find it, if anyone knows the link to a sample project any topic so i can have a look at the layout please email it to me , id really appreciate that. thanks
