i hope i can pass it

the exam was horribly set. Lisa Weaver was trying to give her reputation as being the last exam in the program the milestone to achieve in order to become certified.
But sorry to inform this was not the way to do it!
I am totally not against any examiner setting a standard to be achived of high quality, but not in that manner.
Where you cannot even deffrientiate between the requirements and marks allocation to begin with and the time allocated to each part was just not sufficient especially being Question 1 and 2.
I encourage everyone on the site to please please let their voices be heard for this injustice that was done to us.
Please respond to the survey so that at least we can get some consolation for this awfully set exam for us.

I woonder why ever i ever chose this route.... 6tough months for some 3hours assessment? ACCA is so exam oriented, no pre asessments. the only difference between a pass and a fail candidate is the fact the former saves some pounds in future, but knowledge wise there is none, cos 90% of the students forget everything about that paper as soon as they leave the hall..... am just frustrated.... seeing the length of the Question just put me away...no time to reason, until i got here i didnt know there were asking for matters to consider before accepting an engagement...time

I read one article about ACCA exam. I do not remember where. All exams are reviewed for their quality including whether the questions can be attempted within the time frame set for the question. That means whether the time allotted for the questions are sufficient to cover the requirements. As a procedure, and as to my understanding, if they feel the first question is too long to attempt, they should otherwise make the next question easy. But, going concern issue using prospective cash flow statements and some balance sheet information, it is only harder than the first question except that it is not that long. I wonder if any member of the team tested themselves for the applicability of the allotted time for the given questions. And they should be honest to us they really did test themselves before they decided on the question type. But I do not think!

I tried to attempt almost all questions with a lot of time pressure. I choose question 3 & 5. As time goes on, my handwriting was suddenly changed to foot writing. If GOD be with me, I may secure pass mark and be an associate.

MAY GOD HELP US NOT TO SEE ANY OF ACCA PAPERS AGAIN!

i answered all, very time pressured exam, just hoping for the 50! q1 i did not quote any ias.best of luck to you all. i hope the standard is changed unfair that it has only 30% pass rate .

yea even i dint mention many of the IAS's ppl here r talking abt!! dead scared..

I worked really hard for this paper I wrote IFRS 5 and it being a adjusting event....Contruction I wrote that forecasts will have to be looked at with professional skeptism because the Co. Is looking to sell the company I feel so tired I worked so hard I wish yourll had the same ideas

Does anyone know where complaints regarding the exam can be made on the ACCA website? It seems most people are annoyed as I am about the expectations in this exam. They need to be more realistic, time pressure is expected, but this was ridiculous.

The paper was an alright paper to answer but too much to write in too little a timeframe. The amount of reading you have to do and then to respond with an answer and the question being hidden in the reading. i truly hope that I passed but I did not reach part b of question 3 and rushed through the last part of question 1 as i had 15 minutes remaining.

I attempted Q1 to Q4. The paper was manageable, I just need to improve on my time management skill. I'm praying that I am successful in this exam because God know I dont want to sit this paper again.

I think it wasn't a difficult paper, as far as theory goes. But it was a real test on time management and concentration... Lets hope we did better than we think!

no problem with the exam if the markings are done carefully........just sticked with 100 marks 100 points theory.........i believe i m not fool enough to miss out 50 points

I left 15 marks due to time pressure and I had only 1hr left to complete the paper so I skipped 15 marks in Q2 and jumped into to Q3 & Q4 rather than thinking what to write in Q2..:D

q 2 sucks all my time. over all, it's up to god to get me pass mark.

DISAPPOINTED!!!!!!!! NIGHTMARE, what a paper, attempted 70% of the paper, including Qs 3 and 5.

ACCA conducts exam feedback survey in order to know the concerns of students who have appeared in the exam…

This is very important and probably your last chance to raise your voice and share your concern BEFORE the MARKING SCHEME is finalized by ACCA.

They do consider students feedback before the marking scheme is decided in order to ensure that the paper is a fair test in the alloted three hours period….

So please every P7 student go and raise your voice before its too late…..

It may affect your result in the end ( a marginal fail or just pass)…..!

Looking back the paper wasnt that bad, but between looking for the requirements in the email and settling with the long scenarios I lost a huge chunk of time:(

The paper was too long and run short of time.Even though the questions were not that difficult.It was so stressy and could not work as for other papers.

Guys, i have tried and tested it and trust me this FEEDBACK THING WORKS . Please go ahead and and make ur self heard. Tell ACCA the exam was lengthy. There is not one person who gave the required quality in exam who attempted 85-100 marks and those who gave quality could not attempt for more than 80. Its better to spend a few minutes on feedback rather than getting a 49 FAIL on the 22nd of August!

I made a mess of my opinion on going concern with lots of other uncertainty. Would I be penalized/foul on wrong opinion? I learnt that even when you had score 80, one might end up scoring 49 because of foul on expressing wrong opinion. How far is this true?

The feedback is precisely designed to assist the ACCA board in compiling of marking scheme. As mentioned below:

"ACCA welcomes your feedback on the exams that you took at the June 2011 session. The feedback you give will be considered by the Global Exam Review Board. The Board meets to review the questions, answers and marking schemes after the last exam paper has been sat at each exam session. This ensures that the papers are a fair and reasonable test and is one of the final stages in the quality assurance process prior to commencement of marking and therefore results being finalised."

I qualified summer 2010 with ACCA, all these coments are very familiar each year with bad experiences repeatedly seen as poor time management due to not being able to understand the examiners requirement. However do not give up or view these experiences negatively or simply blame the examiners for not making the exam papers more easier to complete because you don't have the time to cover the syllabus sufficiently or because you have work/college or other commitments that you are finding tough to balance.

The standard of the ACCA exams is designed to bring out the best in those students who will go on to develop into professional accountants - I don't just mean getting high pass marks each time. The right to pass an exam cannot be soley determined by how much time you spent studying it is about application of commonsense knowledge and application of many other cognitive skills which you acquire along the path of experience.

Question 1 was really too lengthy, it took all my time. I mistakenly did not see the question 2 (which I could score at least, 22/27) until wasted all my time in the Q1. In overall, I attempted question with weight of 70marks, pray that gives me a pass! Lisa just bundled a lot of issues into Q1 with too long a case study. However, it wasn't difficult, just the time constraint!

Q1-Q2 were very hard time mngt-wise. The structure and format and the questions asked were really hard to concentrate on and I had to look to the task a few times during writing an answer. I attempted all 100 makrs, but had to hurry at the end a lot.
+ it was a different format from Prior years.
so, no happy face... I went out of a class room with a complete distasterous mood..

the exam was too practical and time pressured. too much information to be read under exam conditions. will be rewritting in december.

Question 1 and 2 took so much of time that there was hardly much time left for question 3 & 4. So much of time constraint… fingers crossed...

may be out of topic. but i would like to have you guys' advice. in order to sit for P7, is it ok to pursue self study? or is it crazy enough that going to classes would be better?

Av done my feedback on acca webpage let's all do d same. So our voices will be heard, I spent half of my time on question 1. Still I remain positive. This is d last time I am wrtiting this paper. amen.

the exam was a tough paper, question 1 and 2 was really long and asked for a lot of information and time was too short for the amount of information that was required.
