i got 47 after 5th attempt. got so disappointed and do not know what to do. Am left with only a paper and struggled so hard to comprehend the syllabus of P5. I hope that i have strength to sit to Dec 2013. The Struggle continues until i become an affiliate next session
August 11, 2013 at 12:42 pm #13753160 marks in first sitting. Like others was not sure of a pass as left 15 marks bit unanswered and with other bits you know how it is – so easy to miss the point and write different stuff to what is required.
Now affiliate hurray!!
MANY THANKS to OpenTuition as last few exams I did only with their notes and BPP practise and revision kit. When I needed more explanation I used ACCA technical materials and some online info like Wikipedia. And of course the OpenTuition tutors support which is great and quick.I recommend OT to all fellow students.
August 11, 2013 at 2:21 pm #137540Any of you guys who passed & are in the UK, l need the P5 BPP 2013 text book, please.

P5 was the only P exam I passed at the first attempt (with 58 marks). P1 – 2x, P2 – 2x, P3 – 3x, P4 – 2x, P5 – 1x.
I was getting so exhausted with all of that. Now it is finished finally. Guys who do one exam more than three times, I really feel for you. God luck to all who are going to resit!August 12, 2013 at 8:59 am #137655AnonymousInactive- Topics: 0

Please share more…I pretty much guarantee that most of the guys on here did their fair share of studying, and knew the course notes, models etc pretty well, especially seeing as there are no complicated calcs.
Passing this exam boils down to three things:
(1) Answering the question set. You must spend a minute thinking “what exactly is the examiner asking me to do here?”. You can write loads of great stuff but if its not answering the question set then you’ll get zero marks.
(2) Applying the models and your knowledge to the scenario. I feel like this is a gift. Why? Because the scenarios are full of clues that will prompt your memory. But it’s the application that is the key.
(3) Structuring your answer. Forget essay style responses, the marker doesn’t want a long story or introduction to your answer when its 11:30 at night, they’re marking their 26th exam that day and want to go to bed. Make it difficult for them not to give you your marks – use a separate header for every point you make, followed by a couple of explanatory sentences.
Hope it helps.

August 12, 2013 at 5:47 pm #137773third attempt and failed with 49%. This is the last exam I have to take. I’m seriously thinking giving up P5 and about taking p6. I think a fresh mind on P6 will help me to pass P6 and become an ACCA affiliate. Please, advice!!! Congrats to all who passed! and who didn’t don’t give up try another time or change to another optional paper.

91%, absolutely thrilled to bits. I recommend everyone to spend as much time studying exam technique as the actual material as I am convinced that’s what the result is down toOMG! I will take P5 exam this Dec for the 1st attemp. Could you please help to share your experience. I’m in need of it.
This is a difficult paper and I know many friends of mine failed for many times. I’m a little bit scared!!!August 16, 2013 at 11:59 am #138310AnonymousInactive- Topics: 0

fail on 46 last time 46 b4 tht 48 then 45 :/…… tht was 9th Attempt :/… i dnt get it wats their problem :/I don’t mean to sound harsh but how hard is it to type those vowels in your posts? I wonder if that could be the sort of thing that is preventing you from passing? I’m sitting P5 in December but have passed P1, 2 & 3 all first time. I really think little things like spelling words properly and using good grammar make all the difference for marginal passers – I got 52% in P1 & 3 and 54 in P2.
I’m not suggesting that this is how you write in the exam but you must give the marker every possible chance to pass you!
