    ?
Hello. I received an email saying that:

    Dear Student,

Oxford Brookes University BSc (Hons) in Applied Accounting

Your Research and Analysis Project mark and, if applicable, your BSc in Applied Accounting award have not been released as your Research and Analysis Project has been sent to the Academic Conduct Officer (ACO) for further investigation.

This is my first time I submitted the project. Can any one has gone through this experience?

Why don’t release all the results at once as soon as it is 22nd Sep? Why BATCHES??

BTW what are the benefits of getting a degree from OBU? Can you use this to get a job elsewhere? I mean it is a so called UK degree so what are the benefits of getting this UK degree?

With all due to respect to the unis in the UK

Still waiting in Ireland. Did anyone get an email to say results would be released today? I know in previous years people did but I haven’t had any correspondence since I paid the fee.

I did it because I want to move to Canada and you get extra points in the immigration system for two degrees, ACCA also counts as one. Plus having a degree makes it easier to become a Canadian CPA, as they don’t recognise ACCA as a degree for the purpose of mutual recognition.

Any more benefits? Like in terms of increasing the likelihood of getting jobs abroad in the gulf because you are a UK qualified candidate?

BTW what are the cheapest options of to the UK after this degree for international students? And I have heard that once in the UK you get hired for full time but your official wage is for part time due to visa restrictions however they pay the rest of your wage unofficially in cash. And that this way you can make 1500 pounds a month?

    Is this true?

    COMMENT BY TEPHENA:

The purpose of this thread is to discuss results and not the merits of getting the Oxford Brookes BSc Applied Accounting. BTW It is an option offered by ACCA and OBU and no one forces you to do it. We are not here to discuss hearsay and any further speculative posts about wage rates in the UK and defrauding the HMRC will be deleted by me as they are totally irrelevant to the subject under discussion

I doubt any legit accounting firm would do that considering it would be illegal.

Is there any deadline to this unkind act of OBU?

For how long will our hearts keep racing?

I doubt so, but most likely before the end of the day? I had once waited until evening of the actual day for my result of 1st attempt, which then I was informed that I failed.

    Why did you fail?
    What reasons did OBU cite?

Yes, OBU will provide you their comments on those areas that you have failed and areas that can be improved.

hahaha. I am still waiting for my result too. Me too, have no idea how the system works and why some will get earlier than the rest.

is it because it is sent out based on the results of each individual that have been grouped together in one batch (e.g. 1 batch – 2nd Upper, 1 batch – 1st Class) ??

IS this true that candidate are grouped together based on their results? Does that mean that we will get a second class or third?

I dont know. I am just thinking out loud. There is no proof to it. Just be patience, your results will come eventually.

Don’t think you can demand your results, and certainly not over here.

I get that waiting for it is horrible, I’ve been waiting since 12 am too and I think the batch system is implemented so that their systems can handle the amount of candidates.

I doubt it. It’s probably sorted by something like ACCA number or submission number

Well in all honesty this system is certainly not good. OBU should use systems used by ACCA, Cambridge or Edexcel who handle vast numbers of applicants but still release results on time.

Got the mail now. I’ve failed. I’m gutted, totally gutted. My mentor said it was one of the best projects she has seen and now this. I can’t believe it
