Hi guys, This is Talha, i need some assistance of yours if anyone can guide please.
Actually i’ve passed all papers till F9, till June 2014 except F4, and passed F4 in Dec 2014.
Now am I eligible to get OBU degree or not?Thanking you all in advance.
Regards.January 26, 2017 at 8:08 pm #369847my o level certificate with a credit in english language meets obu requirements, please how do i submit it to acca?
January 27, 2017 at 10:56 am #369929Contact the ACCA OBU office at acca@brookes.ac.uk and they will probably be able to tell you.
January 27, 2017 at 8:12 pm #369982ok thanks
February 16, 2017 at 6:19 pm #372775I registered with ACCA back in 2001 but stopped my studies when I had children, I have now resumed my studies and with 1 paper that was still valid I have now completed f1 f3 and f4.
Because I was registered with ACCA for over 10 years does it mean there is no way for me to complete my obu
February 16, 2017 at 7:45 pm #372788Sadly I rather think as you have exceeded the 10 years allowed. However I do think this rule works against women in your position. If you live in the UK I think you do have a case for sex discrimination. It is up to you if yo want to challenge ACCE and OBU on this – both reckon they apply equal opportunities. Your case would be extremely strong if you not only had children but worked full -time as you could argue how could you possibly do a degree as well while fulfilling all the requirements the other two put on you?
February 17, 2017 at 12:07 pm #372870Help please.
Must I pay my annual subscription before I can attain the degree, or can I pay later. Having financial issues at the moment.
February 17, 2017 at 5:24 pm #372913Your ACCA subscription must be up to date when you submit your project and you will also have to pay the GBP 250 submissions fee when uploading otherwise your work cannot be marked.
March 6, 2017 at 2:28 pm #375969Just a recap.
-It’s not enough to be ‘opted in’ in myacca.
-In addition to be ‘opted in’, a candidate must hold a suitable proof of proficiency in English language.
-The above applies also to UK, Irish, NZ, etc. nationals. Is the above correct?
March 7, 2017 at 12:52 pm #376156Yes I think you have very neatly summed up the situation so many thanks. 😀
Additionally the post a few above also applies – you must be up to date with your ACCA subscription. (Someone recently also asked if they could submit and pay the fee at a later date -the answer is no – there is no facility for effectively having a ‘loan’ and any system problems in payment after submitting would mean the result would be withheld pending full payment)
March 15, 2017 at 6:43 am #378275hi
just a few questions.
1.where should i send my english language proficiency certificate as a proof? i have an IELTS so am i supposed to email to oxford brooks or ACCA?
2. i have passed 11 acca papers so do i actually need to show proficiency certificate or something?
3.what is the last date to show english language proof for period 34?
sorry if im asking these questions again if you have already answered this any where before.
best regards
March 15, 2017 at 6:52 am #378276also additional note, i passed the paper f4 on december 2014 session . so would that qualify as english language proficiency?
March 15, 2017 at 9:58 am #378320The problem we have on Open Tuition is that ACCA and OBU tend to change their requirements and we find it difficult to keep up with the subtle changes when it comes to admin procedures.
I myself will readily put my hands up and say I am competent to deal with most questions on academic approach and content on most RAP topics (there are a few I feel are outside my comfort zone in terms of lack of knowledge) however on the background eligibility rules I have distinct gaps!
I am sorry this is one of them. Your English appears fine to me but for accurate information you really need to contact the ACCA/OBU office at acca@brookes.ac.uk
You should get an answer promptly if you do it now before the results are released otherwise it is likely to take much longer to get a reply from 22 March onwards.March 15, 2017 at 12:58 pm #378348ok thank you so much
May 12, 2017 at 9:43 am #385954hello,
i am an acca student. i took ielts exam recently and scored
reading and writing 5.5.
speaking and listening 6.5.
could you please tell me if i am eligible to register for OBU BSC.
May 12, 2017 at 10:34 am #385963We do not feel confident in advising about the administrative side of things. Please consult acca@brookes.according.uk. who will be able to advise you accordingly.
I suggest you do this sooner rather than later because as the current submission window closes next week they will be too busy to attend to general queries then.
June 13, 2017 at 9:48 am #392948I have finished 11 paper of ACCA, but I still don’t register the Oxford Brookes University. I want to know if I have a chance to apply the degree of Oxford Brookes University. Thank your answer.
June 13, 2017 at 11:16 am #392976This question needs to have been posted on the correct forum topic -How about using the one on eligibility??? (Otherwise our forum becomes a disorganised mess of random questions!!!)
You have to have opted in to OBU (or been opted in by default) before passing F7 to F9. Have you checked this? You don’t actually register as such – just kept the option. If for some reason you opted out then as you are at Paper 11 you won’t be able to opt back and do the degree. If however you did not change the default of being opted in then there should be no problem.
September 18, 2017 at 9:51 am #407850Dear sir,
I am current ACCA student studying in Pakistan. I have completed 10 papers of ACCA. But I could not get OBU due to ineligibility. I just wanted to know are there any other Bacholers degree programs that could provide me with exemptions? Because i want to get a Bacholers degree.
November 25, 2017 at 10:17 pm #417999I need advice
I contacted ACCA about the submission dates of RAP for Oxford Brookes Degree (BsC). They sent me the dates and told me that i am no longer eligible for BsC Degree because i didnt present a proof of English Proficiency before doing F7 F8 and F9. But i achieved B in IGCSE English as a Second language and i sent them the certificate when i registered.Thats why i was registered as an ACCA student rather than FIA student. One of my friend is eligible even though his method of registration was same as mine. What should i do?
November 28, 2017 at 9:12 am #418587The only thing that might be different between you and your friend: it might possibly be more to do with whether you had opted out of the degree (rather than your certificate in English). Normally all students are opted in by default unless thy have chosen to opt out. Unfortunately once you pass F7 / 8 / 9 you are not allowed to opt back in – it HAS to be done before passing these.
If you never opted out AND sent the certificate before F7/ 8/ 9 then contact them again and set out the facts by date and give clear details and ask them to re-examine your records.
December 11, 2017 at 6:28 am #422474hello.i am currently residing in USA.do i have to submit English proficiency before submitting RAP project.
December 12, 2017 at 3:04 am #422629Hello! Its going to be 10 years in the dec of 2018 since my registration in acca! N my aim was this bsc degree but unfortunately i couldn’t take the exams in the last few years! Im left with f8 and f9, now i want to know if i take one of my papers in june session and hopefully pass it then would i still be eligible for submitting the thesis?because what iv read im a little confused about the rule where it says that you have to pass the fundamentals atleast two months prior to submitting the thesis! Im a little frustrated now because i don’t want to miss the oportunity of getting the degree!
December 12, 2017 at 3:54 am #422632I have four passes of a’levels and i have cleared f4 in 2013 , do i still need to give any other proof of my english language?
