What questions did everyone get on today’s paper? I’m honestly not even sure how I feel about it… mixed emotions
My questions were on a not-for-profit organization named historical places as per the pre-seen.
I honestly do not know how to feel as well. In the exam hall, I confidently went over and managed to answer all the questions. But thinking about my responses now, I feel like perhaps I leaned more on common sense than the direct concepts taught under SBL, especially in responding to the questions on e-marketing.
what question did you have?
Task 1 (a) for the programme change proposed by the CEo, I used SAF model – report + communication skills required, then (b) was on remuneration of directors – exhibit gave proposals and we had to comment them (I think this one was an email and required sceptical skills), (c) one slide on what leadership skills are needed for the executive in order to support the change on (a), without professional skills mentioned in the task requirement.
Task 2 (a) financial and non financial measurements on 2 sites were given and we had to comment on reasons and implications, calculations were not required, they were already done. – report with analytical skills if i remember well. Task 2 (B) was on risk assessment and mitigation actions based in what was mentioned in the exhibit. Report with evaluation skills if I remember well. Here I got a bit panicked due to the remaining time, (1h left) as the system was really slow for me (home based exam, not the first time when it happens to be that slow) and I only commented on them (theft risk, absenteism, things like that) plus gave ideas of actions to be taken. However, after the exam I was thinking if TARA model should have been used here.
Task 3 was on the use of e-marketing, to obtain funds ethically. I was somehow thinking this will appear in the exam so I referred to few of the 6Is but also gave options to improve the website, reach new donors and keep the old ones.1.a)contextual change…. the proposed program implementation

The best way to tackle this question is using 6I’s as a framework.I had the same questions as you.
I don’t know if it was just me but I really struggled to fit in any frameworks with the questions. It also felt like common sense to me at times but I always tried to link it back to the Charity.
Yeah I struggled time wise as I think I spent too long on Q1. Q1 was quite meaty and contained 42 marks.I applied the same models as you but I think I didn’t write enough for the last 2 questions bcoz of time.
Hope to get 50Did anyone else thought of using POPIT in the slide question? Mixing it with executive leadership qualities?
The Question says ” contextual ” I can’t see how you can apply unfreeze…. Change…. Refreeze
I used the POPIT model for the implementing change section in Q1 only model I thought was appropriate
I think there are different variants of the paper for the morning and noon exams. What questions did you have? How difficult was it?
I done the exam in the afternoon, I would say it was alright, but done a lot of revision on models and none of them seem to fit really, was a very subjective paper which I guess is what everyone ends up saying after their SBL exam. First task was responding to emails from the chair on diversity on the board and some ethical issues that had happened. Second task was them wanting to hire a risk manager and start an internal audit function (Kind of relate that to COSO), also a question on how to improve volunteer engagement and motivation. and then the third task was some information on a project and it just asked for benefits and weaknesses.
I had the same paper. I thought it was quite a good paper. I did think the diversity question for 18 marks was tough to kinda raise 9 different points
Mine were completely different to whats being discussed above. I had trustee diversity and trustee issues/risks – two slides to prepare on a risk manager/internal audit team and and investment proposal.
I would agree with this. I think it was 100% about push back of complaints as well as agreeing with complaints. In all honesty the trustees were fairly well diversified in some areas.
I think it was ” you are a senior member of a team of consultants hired by HP” so i went about ” senior consultant ” everywhere
Yep!, I identified as a senior consultant in each question. I think contextual features in Q1, emphasized on ‘the features as contained in the exhibit’. So mine was basically common sense centered around, the stakeholders to be affected or affect the proposed change, the SORP and supervisory board provisions affecting the change and the site for the events.
Q2,2a… quite unexpected. The financial and non-financial bit for a charity. (I answered this last and hmm…). 2b was like a refresher for me from AA concerning the shops’ incompetence concerning risks and all that.
Q3, I was pretty happy with E-MARKETING as that was the last topic I revised just the night before and easily remembered the 6Is. I even chipped in the ‘tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, and empathy’ bits regarding a sound website’s form. I left out industry restructure(one of the 6Is) though cos of time.
All in all, hoping for the best.Brother in First Requirement of Task 1
Which was About the contextual features for Implementing changes!I Used the Whole exibit 1 ( which includes Employment contracts and Remuneration etc )
I mean to say that i used the Whole Exibit 1 to Answer the requirement of Contextual features for change
I am confused beacuse there was an another Requirement about ED’s remuneration and contract.
While answering Q1 (task 1) , i thought that the Remuneration proposal is Also about the change,
