Hello how did you study to secure a pass the material used and technique help
AAhmad3y ago#4
58% on my 2nd attempt. Thank God! I used Kaplan mostly. Online videos. I would say 90% of the time. Then OT with the flashcards. This is my 2nd attempt. I honestly went through all the materials. There was nothing from the Kaplan syllabus that i skipped. I studied overall for about 6 months completing about 12 Mock tests. At the very least, i know the definitions and measurement criteria for every standard on the syllabus. I made my own notes and stuck with them. Its very time consuming but was worth it for me. Every detail that i needed to know i wrote it in my notes. If i got stuck during the exam, i just write the definition & measurement criteria. Also applied the conceptual framework. Stating whether it meets the definition of an asset/liability. I learned from my 1st attempt and started with question 2 this time. I did consolidation last. Good luck.

I have got 76% .....Very less time to prepare with a taxing long hour job....prepared with confidence and strategy....went through a lot of topic wise videos from opentuition on the last day ....prepared through previous year exam solving techniques on opentuition. Thanks

I got 82%! This is my highest marks since the beginning. :)
Aamos3y ago#7
46% Did everything. Now I'm confused because I failed both with AAA -44%. Quitting is the best option now. I lost self confidence. 16 April was my birthday and my grade 10 daughter wrote many articles praising her dad not knowing that he is a useless failure. I don't know where I lost it so can't continue since I don't know which area I'm not good. It started with FM last and that was my first time failing examination.

Got 65% and it was my 2nd attempt. Thank god because the paper was hella tough!! I was actually expecting to fail once again and was preparing to quit all together. But this paper gave me some hope!

Got 78% in SBR !! March 2023 attempt
MMahamudul3y ago#10
Passed with 55 mark. I prepared for only 1 week and did not expect I will pass. Thanks to OT, F7 knowledge and 10 years of accounting experience. Thanks to Almighty Allah
PPraneetha3y ago#11
Got 82%, first attempt! Happy tears last night? Well done to all who have passed and to anyone who didn't, don’t lose hope!

Congratulation on such a high marks. What is your strategy and process for preparing sbr exam. Tha k you
Cchristina3y ago#13
Passed - 60% was expecting a fail I won’t lie. My only advise is to write something for every question as I must have picked up marks this way as there was definitely parts of questions I wasn’t confident with but wrote something for them

Failed again in second attempt with 42 marks. With 3 exams left, this is the end of my ACCA journey. I give up, I have a family and we pay a big price when I study and not spend time with them. Good bye ACCA and good luck to the rest of you!

53% 2nd attempt, I wanted to throw the towel because I'm pretty busy with 2 little kids and work, however, after seeing the other guys' comments on how they passed SBR in December with a high score, by doing 4 times the kit practice exam. They encouraged me, I did it only once, I couldn't do more due to time and energy. It's pretty exhausting, so guys don't lose hope.
AAndrew3y ago#16
Pass 55% 2nd attempt. I thought I had failed when segmental reporting came up, but I picked up enough marks somewhere! Two more exams left.
PPriya3y ago#17
dont quit!
PPrincess3y ago#18
Please what strategies did you use?
Ssayurisan033y ago#19
First attempt, passed with 68%. It was a difficult paper, indeed! Congrats to everyone that passed, and those who did not, don’t lose hope! It is doable with devotion and practice.
SSerhat3y ago#20
84 in my first attempt! My exam went well, but I did not expect such a high score! Very good surprise indeed I only used opentuition for lectures and Kaplan for question practice + 3 mock exams.
KK3y ago#21
Passed first attempt with 55! And after a 6 year break (exemptions from university) with about 7 weeks to remember everything again and learn the SBR syllabus, ah I am SO HAPPY Congrats everyone else who passed and those who didn't, don't give up!
MMagdalena3y ago#24
Wow, The community here is so supportive. Thank you guys for all this motivation. Difficult day today, but maybe I'll rethink my decision, I don't know. At this moment I can't find enough strength in me, but your support is so helpful. I'm surprised and moved, thanks again!

Second attempt and second failure. Does anyone experiencing problems with speed of typing? I had a long break in studies and now I do understand that I need to attend typing course. Otherwise I won't be able to pass any of ACCA exam. On my work I don't need to write long reports. I have 12 years of work as auditor and accountant. I didn't have any problems on my work with typing. But ACCA want me to be not only an accountant but a typist as well...
Sstevemay3y ago#26
I thank God Almighty. I had a narrow passed of 50% at 2nd attempt.
Oonyekachi3y ago#27
@amos, you are not a failure! Do not think or ever see yourself that way. Things like this happen in life. It’s a phase and will definitely pass if you do not give up. I know some one who failed every of the 14 papers at least 3/4 times and some even 5 times but she is now qualified. You must be an amazing dad as your child believes. This does not in any way define you.. don’t give up! You can take a few months off but do not give up...

Well done and congratulations to all who passed. This is my 2nd sitting of SBR and failed with 46%. Taking the exam again in June and my main focus is on timed questions and mocks till the exam because I know this is my weakness. I have SBR and AAA to finish, I work full time, mother, wife and not about to give up. It is disheartening to fail especially when we put in as much time as everyone else but please DO NOT give up, you didn’t come this far to give up.
RRohit3y ago#29
I got 49 this is my 2 nd attempt. 1st attempt with 48 marks. I did my best this time. I don't know where I went wrong. Is there a chance of passing with 1 mark if I appeal for administrative review.
PPraneetha3y ago#30
I take notes by watching OT lectures, learn and understand those notes and do the entire BPP book and the mock tests. I mark the questions I got wrong and do them again. I also check through OT flashcards and revision lectures. If you do all these you should be ready for your exam. Hope this helps :)
MMMuhammad Mashhood3y ago#31
84% Alhamdulilah
Kkbaptiste3y ago#32
Congrats to all who passed. I agreed with the typing part. Let us be realistic, in real life there is spell check and who types so much these days? I don't. Anyhow, I do hope I am successful in June since this would be my first SBR attempt. Cannot afford to give up now too close to the end. Congrats to all again and for those who were not successful, do not give up.
