General ACCAMarch 2021 Remote exams - booking window opens on 25 January

KimKimTutor5y ago
The booking window for remote exams opens on 25 JANUARY. We strongly recommend you book as soon as possible to ensure you can reserve a time and date that suits you. Read on to find out more about remote exams and watch the step-by-step video which outlines how to book available here https://www.accaglobal.com/gb/en/student/exam-entry-and-administration/computer-based-exams/on-demand-cbes/remote-on-demand-cbe-info.html. Remote exams can be taken in any private, quiet space. Upon booking, you will be given an exam start time, just like centre-based exams. You will complete the exam in the allocated time, under the same conditions as an exam centre. The exam will be invigilated remotely by a real person via a WEBCAM. It is YOUR responsibility to ensure that the requirements are met to successfully run the exam from a remote location. You must complete a SYSTEM CHECK in the LOCATION and on the DEVICE you plan to use in the exam which can be carried out easily and quickly via Pearson Vue’s website: https://home.pearsonvue.com/acca/onvue You must also ensure minimum technical requirements are met using this checklist: https://www.accaglobal.com/content/dam/ACCA_Global/Students/Remote-exams/Minimum spec.pdf

hello! canada is not on the list for remote exam for march 2021..does that mean its a paper based exam? thanks alot :)
KimKimTutor5y ago#2
CBE vs paper is one issue that is determined on the basis of ACCA's rollout of CBE - I have answered your query about Canada on your separate post Cenre vs remote is a separate issue that is determined on the non-availability of locations due to covid-19 see https://www.accaglobal.com/vn/en/student/exam-entry-and-administration/covid-19-exam-availability.html

Hi! Does anyone know how ACCA verifies your location during the remote sitting, given the exams are only available to certain locations? Will it be an issue if my computer is connected through VPN, which may result in the location showing up as a different location than one of those eligible for remote sittings? Thank you

Please READ the information available on the links provided at the top of this thread as most questions will be answered by authoritative ACCA resource. In the minimum spec: "Firewall Do not take your exam in a setting with a corporate firewall (including VPN) ...."

Hello, If someone has booked exams today and the only option to choose was center based, is there any possibility on 25/1/21 to change this option to remote exams without charges??? The center based exams are located in Athens Greece. Thanks in advance, Fyll
KimKimTutor5y ago#6
@fylleniaf - remote exams are not available except where centre-based exams have been cancelled. You will be notified if exams are cancelled at your centre (you can monitor here also https://www.accaglobal.com/gb/en/student/exam-entry-and-administration/covid-19-exam-availability.html) - in this case you would be offered remote invigilation which you could then book (assuming your system/device/internet etc meets requirements).

Same here Zara, I thought I would try and get online and book it this morning before work, but there is no option to book from home, I am trying to book the SBL exam for March. Does anyone know what time it will be available from?

Hi, I'm trying to book a March remote exam, but the 'At Home' option isn't available as a location. Is there a particular time the exams will be open for booking? Thanks
MMannypanny5y ago#10
Hi i'm also still not able to book the remote exam in the UK. It doesn't seem to be working 8 hours later.
KimKimTutor5y ago#11
if is 07:56 in the UK - if someone posts after 9am that they cannot book I will make an enquiry of ACCA.
JJames5y ago#12
Does anyone know what time they should be available from? Haven't received the further information email as promised by the ACCA. I would guess either 12am or 9am?
CCatherine5y ago#13
I’ve managed to book from the UK. Did so at around 08:15
JJames5y ago#14
Did it the "From Home" option appear at the top?
GGARY5y ago#15
What exam did you book Catherine? As the at home function is still not available when I look on the booking page
JJames5y ago#16
Still unable, another error up by ACCA
CCatherine5y ago#17
No I went into the booking platform as normal, then where I’d normally select CBE there was a home option. I booked TX-UK
SSarah5y ago#18
I’m trying to book a March remote exam, but the ‘At Home’ option isn’t available as a location, trying to book AFM.
EEmily5y ago#19
Hello, I'm in UK and booked FM about 7:40am but my work colleague isn't able to book TX. We suspect it's because I had FM already booked at a centre and she didn't have anything booked. They cancelled my booking and I had the amount in credit, I then had the "At Home" option and booked my time slot. Therefore it's as if they are giving people who had bookings the option first, and then maybe release to the rest of the students? Can everyone who isn't able to book at Home, confirm if they also didn't have it booked at a centre prior to today?
SShannon5y ago#20
I'm also trying to book my remote exam and the option 'At Home' still isn't available??
JJames5y ago#21
Kim, could you refer to ACCA? still unable to book
SSarah5y ago#22
I didn't book at a centre prior to today.
Zzara5y ago#23
I have logged off and logged back on and am still unable to book do I need to ring them ? Want to get it booked ASAP
CCharles5y ago#24
Yes, I received an email saying that I could attend a remote sitting, but had an exam booked for June. I cancelled this to take the exam earlier in March, but still no option to select 'At Home'. ??
EEmily5y ago#25
Sarah wrote:I didn’t book at a centre prior to today.
So therefore I believe this is the cause, but whether this is an error or on purpose??
SShannon5y ago#26
I didn't have an exam booked at a centre prior to today actually, you might be right
Aamysnowy5y ago#27
I kept refresh myACCA page for Romote exam booking, but there is nothing changed, still showing "choose location", no "at home" option DELETED
AAmy5y ago#28
I have tried calling multiple times and it keeps saying that there is a system error
GGARY5y ago#29
I had an exam booked, but when I couldn't book one earlier this morning i cancelled it to be able to re book the remote exam per the ACCA email, but now I still can't see the book from home option for SBL.
Zzara5y ago#30
I also didn’t have a centre based exam booked but that shouldn’t be the issue surely? As they let us know that we could sit them from home so people didn’t book the centre based ones. It’s so frustrating Iv spent all morning trying book my exam on acca on my phone, my iPad, my work computer and my Mac wondering if it’s a software thing !
