General ACCAMarch 2021 Remote exams - booking window opens on 25 January

KimKimTutor5y ago
The booking window for remote exams opens on 25 JANUARY. We strongly recommend you book as soon as possible to ensure you can reserve a time and date that suits you. Read on to find out more about remote exams and watch the step-by-step video which outlines how to book available here https://www.accaglobal.com/gb/en/student/exam-entry-and-administration/computer-based-exams/on-demand-cbes/remote-on-demand-cbe-info.html. Remote exams can be taken in any private, quiet space. Upon booking, you will be given an exam start time, just like centre-based exams. You will complete the exam in the allocated time, under the same conditions as an exam centre. The exam will be invigilated remotely by a real person via a WEBCAM. It is YOUR responsibility to ensure that the requirements are met to successfully run the exam from a remote location. You must complete a SYSTEM CHECK in the LOCATION and on the DEVICE you plan to use in the exam which can be carried out easily and quickly via Pearson Vue’s website: https://home.pearsonvue.com/acca/onvue You must also ensure minimum technical requirements are met using this checklist: https://www.accaglobal.com/content/dam/ACCA_Global/Students/Remote-exams/Minimum spec.pdf

Whne I book and confirm availability for CBE, It directs me to the planner to select the exam location center. In Toronto it's showing, "precise solutions centre" but when I called, just to make sure, I was told that they have not been approved to take ACCA exams. So I didn't book and pay. I'd like to know the center location for CBE strategic professionals that Ontario Toronto has if anyone here has written it, before because it's my first time. I'm taking SBR

@chinedu - I suggest you contact ACCA directly https://forms.accaglobal.com/contact-us We have very few students from Canada using this forum so you could wait a long time for a relevant response - if any

Okay thank you.

Hi did you get a response to the the options for CBE_APM_NA_OP_F1?
KimKimTutor5y ago#95
@shakir2021 - select any - you will be able to choose start time after you have accepted Ts & Cs and confirmed the date on the calendar. If you don't see a time slot to suit you can go back and see if choosing a different option changes the time slots that are available to you. (No one has reported back to confirm whether it makes any difference.)

I do have Firewall and VPN on my corporate laptop and people from IT say I should be fine for a remote exam. Did anyone successfully use corporate laptops with protection in previous sittings? Please advice, as tomorrow is the last day for booking. Thank you

@mihaela03 - point 8 on page 6 of the "Guide to Booking & Sitting Remote Session Computer Based Exams (CBEs)" https://www.accaglobal.com/content/dam/ACCA_Global/Students/Remote-exams/guide-to-booking-and-sitting-computer-based-exams-cbes.pdf "DO NOT SIT YOUR EXAM IN SETTINGS WITH A CORPORATE FIREWALL" You should be aware that if you go against recommendations/advice and have an issue on the day, you will not be able to claim any mitigating circumstances (for example) and there would be no valid reason for ACCA to credit you the exam fee.

Hi from Mongolia, I have ordered two exams (APM & SBL) for March sitting. My exams just got cancelled yesterday. But only SBL exam fee is credited whereas APM exam is still booked on March 3 in my planner. Is it possible that only SBL exam is available for remote sitting and APM exam remains as a paper sitting? Also, what does it mean by this "Mongolia (only Applied Skills exams and surplus Strategic Professional entries)"? https://www.accaglobal.com/gb/en/student/exam-entry-and-administration/covid-19-exam-availability.html

@nar317 - I have checked this out with ACCA and I believe the wording will be changed as it is not clear. It is due to reduced exam room capacities in Mongolia centres that not all students can be accommodated for paper-based exams. The excess numbers ("surplus") are being offered remote invigilation. As you are entered for two exams you are not being forced into sitting two exams remotely or having to defer both - you have a choice whether to sit SBL - but your APM booking is not affected. For confirmation of this you should contact ACCA https://forms.accaglobal.com/contact-us
