    Dear Tutors,

Realistically how likely is it that the above will appear as a requirement in a Share Based Payments Question?

    Regards

    Naz

    Hi.

As advised, please use Ask the Tutor Forums for questions directed at the tutor.

Regarding your question, you will not be asked to give a definitive answer on whether or not the scheme will be cancelled.

Most likely you will be asked to provide an argumentative answer focusing on points from the scenario that indicate whether or not company is thinking about cancelling the scheme. You will be free to conclude either outcome, but the marking will primarily focus on valid points in the argument.

Even then, you are likely to be asked about the accounting treatment of either outcome, something like ‘advise what should be the accounting treatment in financial statements if the scheme is/isn’t cancelled’.

    Hope this helps.
