Hi
June 2008 question 2d,
If more craftsmen time is available, the constraint will move outward up to point F.
My question – How did the examiner reach to point F ? is it because of moving the craftsmen time outward “literally” up to a the point where it just “touches” the Ash line and that will be called point F ? or is there any other reason
Sorry, perhaps it is obvious but just want to confirm.
January 22, 2021 at 9:06 am #607513It is as you have written. With more craftsmen time available, the craftsmen line will move further away from the origin (but will still be parallel). The further out it move the great the contribution will be, but once it gets to point F production is then limit by the Ash constraint.
Have you watched my free lectures on linear programming?
Also, do appreciate that although in 2008 you could have been asked to draw the graph, these days of course you cannot be asked to draw it (although you can be expected to be able to explain the graph if it is given to you in the exam question).
