I have just started FA1 few months ago. I realized most of my friends just finished FA1 in 1 month but my tutor and I have used more than 1 month…
Anyone has studied by themselves and just use Opentuition notes and practices to pass the test? If you did so, do you buy any books such as Kaplan or BPP?
Please recommend some books to me too. Thank you so much.February 17, 2017 at 4:49 pm #372897For FA1, i used Kaplan. I’d refer you the same. But, it does not matter which text book you’re using. You can use Beckers as well. All of the ‘Approved Content Providers’ have what it takes to pass the paper.
As for Revision Kits, 1 is enough, but for a better preparation, use 2. It would provide you with more questions & you’ll be able to get a grip on how the examiner tests the students. As for Time, it does take more than 1 month, in fact much more if you’re either working full time, or have no accounting background. I had no accounting background & had to take proper classes despite working full time. A revision of 1.5 months was enough for me to pass.
February 20, 2017 at 2:06 am #373228@secondstar Thank you so much for your reply. Did you use BPP books before? Most of my friends recommend BPP instead of Kaplan.

I used Kaplan for FA1 and FA2. Will use it for F3 as well.
For MA1, MA2 i have used BPP. Currently preparing for F2 with BPP.
I have not decided what to use for F1. My tutor recommended BPP, but i’ll see whats better when i’ll start preparations. It doesn’t matter which study material you’re using, use what you understand easily. I have passed FA1,FA2,MA1 & MA2 with those study materials.

i am going to appear in the exam in last week of march. My exam was delayed due to registration problems otherwise it just takes 5 weeks to complete the course and give exam.March 26, 2017 at 8:34 am #379283Which book are you studying from, I’m started studying from April tell me fees and details
March 27, 2017 at 3:55 am #379332@saba00 So you took 5 weeks to complete FA1 by going through ACCA-X?
@daniyal45 I’m using BPP Practice and revision kit only since I’m lack of practices. I think the fees depend on which country are you from.March 27, 2017 at 7:50 am #379339I’m from Pakistan

June 14, 2017 at 1:16 pm #393134Hello I’m new to the ACCA FIA FA1 and registered with open tuition.
Can you give advice on how to pass exams. I use the open tuition notes to study with ,but is that enough. Is the open tuition notes okay or do I need the text books from some other provider?
June 14, 2017 at 3:12 pm #393144You don’t need other textbooks, but you do need a book of questions to practise eg from BPP or Kaplan.
June 14, 2017 at 3:12 pm #393145@ahenry25 You can also read the notes given by ACCA-X. The courses are free for Foundation & Intermediate level and it has practices and tests too. I bought BPP practice and revision kit for myself because I need more practices. Last week I just finished my exam (FA1 & MA1) and got 70%+ so I think other than these resources your hard work is needed too 🙂
July 21, 2017 at 11:35 am #397923I am studying FA-1 and MA-1. I started last week. And I never did accounting, this is my first attempt and I am very desperate to pass. What can I do to pass? I am sitting for exams in September which I think is near. So I am asking for all advises to help to tackle this. Thanks in advance
August 25, 2017 at 2:57 pm #403502Are notes I download from OpenTuition sufficient enough for passing FA1?
Or is it a must to buy the Kaplan / BPP Textbooks?Or is also okay to use the online notes here and buy Kaplan/BPP question banks for the excersices
September 5, 2017 at 1:56 am #405553okay, yeah, @ vickyxxi
January 22, 2018 at 3:40 pm #432111Hie guys how do I access kaplan or BPP so that I can access material for FA1, FA2 ,MA1 and MA2
August 13, 2019 at 2:02 pm #527350Can I take mock exam through opentuition before writing my FA1exams?
May 9, 2020 at 5:55 pm #570435Asking to be sent soft copy versions of BPP or Kaplan notes is attempted intellectual property theft. That would contravene accountants’ ethical codes and could mean you are not allowed to proceed in the qualification.
June 11, 2023 at 6:26 pm #686804Thanks But can You tell me which book it is that I have to buy?
Is it study Text, Exam Kit or Paper notes?June 11, 2023 at 10:51 pm #686821You definitely need to ha e a revision kit to give you lots of practice answering questions.
