General ACCAFIA and ACCA please help

MMarat8y ago
Hello, currently I am a student of a university (economics degree) and really need some clarification on ACCA and FIA issues. The point is that I have aimed at ACCA qualification but due to absence of degree and relevant certification was registered for FIA which had told that I would have an opportunity to be transferred to ACCA F4 as soon as I finish FAB, FMA, and FFA, then the vague thing is whether it is necessary to pass introductory and intermediate certificates or not? I mean those FA1, FA2 etc. overall four exams until FAB. Can I start with FAB directly without passing FAs and MAs or it is obligatory to cover them at first? I apologise for such simplistic and maybe silly questions but I cannot get a clear guidance from the official website and through connect tool of ACCA. Could you help me please?

The answer is yes. You have to complete FA1, FA2, MA1 and MA2 along with FAB, FMA and FFA. You can confirm it by logging into your 'myacca' account, then clicking on 'EXAM STATUS & RESULTS' and then on 'View your status report'.

@ndiyadzo1 said: You don't need to do FA1 etc. I did only FAB ,FMA FFA then I got the Diploma in accounting and business. I was then transfered to fundamental level F4-F9
It depends on what qualification you have when you're entering into ACCA. ACCA has different entry structures for different countries. I myself have completed all 7 papers of FIA before being transferred to F4-F9. It is definitely possible that your entry routes are different than mine or those of the person asking. Let the user check what i have mentioned in my previous post, so that we can get further info.

@ndiyadzo1 said: I had the least which was ordinary level (O level). I will recommend the short route of only 3 foundation papers. This will save time and and a lot of money.
It is not our decision to choose which entry route to select. As i said, it depends on our qualification at the time of entering into ACCA. You had O Levels, i hadn't. Thats why our entry routes were different. Same goes for the user asking question as well. Unless the person tells us which route he has been provided for entering into ACCA, it is, in my opinion worthless fighting over whom of us is right.

You state that you are a university student so I assume you plan to complete your degree. Why wouldn't you complete your degree first then register for ACCA and claim exemptions then only have to write for the remaining papers you are not exempted for. Not really understanding why as a potential uni grad you want to waste your time and money starting from scratch. Accounting is not a lucrative profession for most people, no point wasting unnecessary time and money. Speaking from more than 10 years' experience.
