5y ago#1Variance analysis is feedback control.
If the variance is adverse, we try to correct the problem so as to reduce the adverse variance in the future - this is negative feedback.
If the variance is favourable, we try to take action so as to increase the variance in the future - this is positive feedback.
(However I have no idea why you are interested in this for Paper PM. Just knowing what feedback and feedforward control are is quite sufficient :-) )
