Please post your comments about ACCA F8 December 2013 exam, how did you do? How did this paper compare to previous exams?
I almost want to say the exam was easy!!! But I don’t like to say that about ACCA exams because I always feel I am at risk and I like to say this sentence “you never know” lol! But I have to say I have done very well, it was a nice exam!

I am really surprised no one has shared any opinions yet on the F8 exam today.. please share
exam was just ok. i did all questions. hope to pass.writing writing and only writing lead to pass i think
Technical paper not straight forward. time consuming parts. hope the best.Didnt find it too hard.
Q1 was an ok question on audit risk, find 6 risks with how to mitigate
Q2 was general knowledge stuff
Q3 was a standard deficiancy question finding errors in system
Q4 standard ethuc question
Q5 was mainly an audit report question with statements, basically find the errors in the audit report extracts ( quite liked that question, seemed quite easy 12 mark question.Missed a few of qu 2 as ran out of time but were only a few marks. Here is hoping I am 2nd time lucky!!!
It was better than i thought it would be. i was able to attempt all of the questions. i am hopeful for a pass (God willing).
Don’t know what to expect. You cannot say whether you did well or not. I attempted all questions. I knew all knowledge questions. Q5 was weird though. It wasn’t that typical modified question. Hope I passed. February is long away lol.
It was not too difficult, I dare to say. Time would have been d biggest problem.
As I recollect 1) was on audit risks in a drink company(typical case study question) & steps to be taken by d auditor & 5 mark questions on audit risk & its components etc
2) Contained knowledge based questions like what Test of Control & Substantive tests aret(10 marks)
3)Was anoda case study question to identify & explain deficiencies in d sales & despatch system of a coy & recommendations
4) Was a case study question on ethical risks faced by an accounting firm in revenue crisis & how they can be reduced
5) Gave an audit report containing errors & required we explain out the errors.I was glad all those “link this note to that ledger to that control account to that fin statemnt” questions didn’t feature. Lol!
All in all, a true & fair paper!@Sen HAHAHAHHAH AGREED! I hated link this to this to this O.o
I must say the exam wast the horror story i expectd. i attempted all question but as they say with this paper you never know if you pass until you see the results

I was a bit down after F7, this paper has raised my spirits in preparation for F9. I hope i did enough for 50%.

The ethical risks is it about the intimidation risk, advocacy, self review, self interest and familiarity risk ?
question about ethics was about acca code of ethics the 5 things which i dont wanna remember right now and also there was some issue of the threats that u mentioned
There was no mention of ACCA code of ethics!!!! What exam did you attempt lol!
The ethic question I had the self review of producing the F.S themselves, advocacy regarding the % of profits. Cant remember the rest
The structure had changed quite a lot and type of questions as well
Base on past exams, i think that payroll system, going concern..will definitely come out:))) but it was really suprised today, none of them:(…but luckily i covered all, so i finished nearly all, the Questions look a bit weird but not too difficultBut still not sure about my writing,
some ppl said this paper even you finished but still unsure till the resultI noticed that the majority say that it was quite easy. I agree with this but on the other hand I don’t like this to happen because easy or not the passing rate still will be (around 45%). Therefore lots will be surprised in February. Personally I prefer bit harder paper and be able to evaluate my overall performance . Right know I cannot say for sure how I did.
well you had to mention these….. i took in consideration the acca code of ethics, the threat things and some other stuffs about client screening lol
anyway time pressure was horrible…. more time should be allocated for this type of paper haha and i coudn’t finish the paper xD my markings should start at 85 =/
