Question 4 YIKES!!
it was difficult. and i really made stupid mistakes in variances. just hope to get 50 marks.
I think it was a fair exam, but just nothing like any of the past papers or the revision I'd been doing, crazy!
How were the mcq's?
Like the bpp/kaplan study guides?
I felt like the exam was very similar to questions in BPP revision kit.
anuj428 - MCQs where ok just a mix of questions from the syllabus, I use LSBF so can't comment on BPP/Kaplan.
MCQ very hard~
BC also. and did stupid mistake~~~crazy day
Question two of section b was worrying - got throughput ratios of nearly 0.5 for both cut and treatment
Yes I choose option a which was a loss of £1300 - not sure if it was correct or not though
Any one with key to mcq's??
It was difficult for me.....I gonna start preparing for 2015 ...
I remember some of mcq: 1st : only division A would accept the investment, breakeven sales in other question : 18,....?, do not employ the manager as the loss would be 1300 and to produce all and only D components. I think for second MCQ I had a B , for 3th A and for 4th D:>
Q1, new learning curve 70 %, time for 8th unit 3.05 hr to produce, Q2 tpar around 70% for both of them, \q4 - balanced score card was the most difficult as i didn't expect it as a long question ....
i think the exam was fair.
for MCQ some were straightforward and on others application of knowledge.
hoping to do well.
Balance scored card was good, i think the hardest question was Q1 2nd part i just totally zoned out.
amyways cant do anything now...
move on to F8!!
I had a lot of "b" answers on the MCQ questions... But I think it was a fair exam but question 4....it almost drived me crazy because it was only one question about balance card on the whole revision BPP kit.
How could someone find those mcqs straight forward :-/ not for me
MCQ: 1. Only division A
Breakeven sales - above 18k units
Go on producing products A and D
Lifecycling costing - all components are included
Target costing - start with selling price, then estimate profit
Dont hire manager - expected -1300
Shadow price - increase on 16$
Choose d and b as well
I chose D and A
When choosing D and B - did you take in account, that there is small demand for B, and thus even to produce for all the demand - there will be available hours left?
Good point
Why was tha senior stylist time bottleneck activity?? Anyone?
What did everyone get for q1 section b as the price to be charged?
i think it was a fair paper compared to June - I think I did a good job after all in this paper
cause they were spending the most time - 3 are not enough
assistants could wash 160 clients per day, but stylists could cut 24 per day only. same with treatment, assistants could service 53 clients, stylists only 16. no senior stylists resource was limited - bottleneck.
I think it was hard in a sense of time. You can actually get enough points by completing the big cases if you are good at those topics. But MCQs - each gives you only 2 marks, but most of them require calculations - very time consuming in total.
anyone knows when official questions and answers 2014 dec f5 will be updated in acca past papers?
Very fair paper and mcq's easy in comparison to bpp and Kaplan. I got TAR as 1.4 and 1.6 repectively. I left that question to last as hardest as far as I'm concerned. Finished the mcq's in around 20 mins. In my opinion if you put the effort onto study then this was a very fair paper from acca.
Only one question on transfer pricing for goodness sake!! Agree with $16 and don't take on manager as $1300 loss and all costs for target costing. Wish every paper were like this. So many tips on balanced scorecard you had to get this sorted prior to the day. Happy days and good luck all
Q2 TPAR was there just one stylist ? bottleneck 6x8x50=2400 hrs? therefore tpar less than1? 2.8 was a shadow price (how much extra would we pay without loosing any contribution therefore 2.8-2=0.8 0.8x20 = 16 extra contribution ?)
