This was my 3rd attempt (Mar, Jun and Dec 2021). I study approx. 2 months for each of them. Even less for June, because of waiting for the Mar results. Made a Summer break and finally succeeded in December.

@Nataliq @Rish12317 sorry you got 49. It happened to me once. I did loads of internet searching all answers were it was a waste of money to get it looked at. Apparently all they do is check that the totals add up rather than re-mark. I believe if you get 49 the marker has to go through the paper again to make sure they cannot squeeze another mark. Anyway after learning all this. I still paid for it to be looked at for peace of mind and it still came back on 49. I am 99.9% sure yours will too. But I suppose you never know.

What is the time you needed to get this score ? and it was self-study or you needed a tutor? what is the resources you used ?

Thank you to everyone who took time to respond. I have booked for March resit and I am not going to apply for administrative review as is a certain waste of money. Can anyone share their tips on how to prepare for resit and pass it? Thank you in advance

50 marks, first try. Any more than the minimum and you're trying too hard. Really felt I knew it more than that but a pass is a pass!

write lots of mocks and do a critical evaluation of the answers, preferrably get it marked by a good tutor or expert who can advise what changes/improvements you need to make to the approach. Main thing is the writing style, following the required format, concise language.

Cleared 70% on my second attempt and this is my last paper! In my first attempt on June 2021, I got 49. This time I prepared in 2 weeks’ time. 1. I printed notes from here and studied only this (targeted to study around 25/30 pages every day so I can complete in 6-7 days) I didn’t memorize any Model but I understood the concept of each model and imagined the possible scenarios in which I could use and made short notes. 2. Gave a quick read of most SBL technical articles. 3. Started attempting Mock from Day 3. Attempted 6 papers in total each one every alternate day in CBE Platform. None of the exam I finished on time, but I completed the paper to evaluate myself on the quality of the answer. I scored between 42-53% max. 4. Just gave a reading of the mock papers on BPP text to understand what type of answers is expected to get maximum score. 5. I watched Hassan Dossani video all 5 day webinar (I suggest skip day 1 first one hour and watch the rest it at 1.50/1.75X playback speed). I learnt the formats, number of valid points to make and how to answer questions with weaknesses and recommendations. 6. While practicing on the CBE Platform, after reading the overview, for each task I started writing on the word processer this way, so my answers are structured (Which took 15 min- 20min in proper bold and font size): 1(a) Report To : Board of Directors From : Alex Larsen Subject : Tender for the contract for the construction of the new road in Betal Date: XX/XX/XXXX This report evaluates “copy paste the content mentioned in the Task” Make 7 Points ; scepticism – Question why?! -18 min (all in bold) (later when I start my answer I write my finish time here) And then I would read all the exhibits. (My aim was to finish this within 30 minutes) and then start the answers. (I would suggest please do not use pen and paper in this exam cos in my first attempt I invested 15 min planning on paper but ran short of time and left 15 marks) But please keep attempting papers on CBE to find your own comfortable way of approaching the scenario. 7. To make one point / write one para I try to write 3 lines: a. What is happening in the scenario first b. Why it is happening or happened or why it is important or significant? c. So what? What will happen in the future? Its consequences? Sorry about the lengthy post. For those who weren’t lucky this time, please don’t give up. All the very best!! ID SAY POINT 6 IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT FOR THIS EXAM

Hi, can you share your approach for the preparation of SBL? Did you use opentuition for it?
RRyanSupporter4y ago#44
open tuition notes are good for definitions, for the outline of areas - the notes are lacking in project management though - so id recommend a textbook if you get asked to do a PID. There is a good PID old exam question in the kaplan book. Go through the questions in the Kaplan book 1-80, and answer these in your own words. Then move on and do all the mocks at the back of the book. When you do these question repeatably - you get into the habit of using the correct structure thats been asked for. Pratice practice practice The below is very important 6. ALSO REMEMBER TO ADDRESS WHO THE QUESTION IS AIMED AT - THE AUDIENCE

@ryanwilkes1985 I remember seeing you from the countdown forum where you were saying you didn't receive the mail from ACCA. Was it true? Was there a mail mishap or did they actually accidentally release the results early?
RRyanSupporter4y ago#46
I didnt receive the email as i wasnt a finalist i think they partially emailed affiliates in ireland, but not all, though im not sure

Got 60% on my second attempt. For those who failed or will sit this exam for the first time I strongly recommend to watch Hasan Dossani's videos on youtube. Don't focus on models. Good luck!
Mmasemito1004y ago#48
43 I really hoped that I passed
Aannalisa4y ago#49
You have a good score, congratulation, could you advise how it's better to prepare to exam? how many time you spent on it?
NNatalia4y ago#50
@ryanwilkes1985 - thank you so much for sharing the tips. I will follow the guidance and hopefully I will pass in March :)
NNurin4y ago#51
Hi, congrats on your pass!! I'll be taking SBL in march and was wondering on which models we should make notes of and if you dont mind sharing your notes? I'm a bit lost on where to start for the paper. Thanks
Mmichelle4y ago#52
i used Open Tuition, Learn signal and Kaplan online evening course... some one said earlier dont waste time on the models and they are right... PAST PAPERS.. and do all the ACCA recommended papers..

I passed with 57 marks. Only used BPP study materials and havent done any practice questions and really focused on the syllabus. I started making notes based on syllabus points - making sure I have answers to each requirement that needs to be demonstrated in detail, based on BPP manual. This technique worked for me for SBL and APM exams which i passed first time (no question practice for APM either). I didnt have time to do mock exams etc, probably that's why i havent done any.
GGevorg4y ago#54
Hi Guys, who has the analysis of past papers of SBL ?
Ppulasthi4y ago#55
