SaraSharif wrote:Jatb10 yes i got the throughput question to. I just converted all the hours one into minutes. To be easier to calculate.

The thing about throughput questions or question like goden bank acoounts is that if you can use excel to calculate (Section C) it will be much easier for minutes/hour calculation, but once you have to calculate on calculator, it is very difficult as just one minor mistake, you take everything starting again, and if you note down on the scrap paper, it will take a lot of time for the 2 mark question.

I think if we are not allowed to have an physicals scrap paper to note, ACCA need to think again the way they put the 2mark questons, it should be concentrated on the way the students undertand about the methodology/topic, rather than the complication of the numbers.
I fully know the steps to do the throughput question, but It takes a lot of my time to convert back and fort and remember the long numbers.. and when I come very closed to the result, I found I missing one 0, then I started again.
same for mixed variances, it should test the students on the steps to calculate (to proves that you understand the concept of variance) by giving the rounding numbers, not with very odd numbers as just with only the calculator, I doubt even the examiners can do all those complicated things within 5 minutes.
The exam should be hard and require students to put their effort to study, but should not be tricky in terms of numbers itself, as it is for nothing and unfair. We need to raise this in our survey.

F5 syllabus contains too many subjects, so can not easily cover it all in a 3 hours exam. I think the questions somehow balances well the difficulty level. However, there are still many core subjects that did not be tested, while some small topics were tested. Generally, F5 is surely harder than the others F.

Yes first time attempting the PM exam and felt nothing like practice questions or past/mock papers. For section C i got Flexed Budget Table and Transfer pricing, was not that strightforward.
Section B was a nightmare, I got optimal pricing, constraaints which I was under prepared for, I did not have many variance questions which was what I practiced heavily. I sadly suspect I will be resitting this in March, anyone else get similar questions?
