How to amortise the development costs , I have did 2 questions and in both of them they have amortised development costs which was brought forward from previous year and didn’t amortise the development costs which was incurred during the accounting year. Please explain me why they have done that ?????
This question would have been better on the Ask the Tutor page!
Maybe different projects? Where costs have been capitalised in the past for project AB and the product is now in production, then we should amortise the previously capitalised development costs
But at the same time we are still in the process of developing project WK and capitalising those development costs. The product WK is not yet in production, is not earning revenue / profits and it is not therefore appropriate to amortise those deferred costs yet
