ATX*** ACCA P6 June 2018 Exam Results ***

Yay!! Passed 1st time! No idea how but I did and I’m done now!!

I passed my final exam! So happy that it is over.

Waaahey passed with 80% ! No idea how as i came out of there almost in tears but thats ACCA done for me ?

Passed and now an affiliate.

52% pass. Officially an Affilliate !

First time pass 67%! So happy!

Passed and that is my final exam..I wish everyone the best of luck with the results.And especially all the staff at opentuition a massive thank you.I failed a couple along the way a kept plugging away.I was disheartened a good few times but feel an overwhelming sense of relief now.To anyone who didn't get the result they hoped for don't give up.massive thanks again to open tuition.

P6 UK 50 pass, I still can't believe, it's real or not

Passed with 62 %, totally shocked as I genuinely thought I'd failed. Was getting ready to re sit!!!

Lots of people were saying this straight after the exam and many struggled with question 1. I think it was either easier to get marks than we thought or they were a bit generous with it.

Passes with 76% and all theories worked for me.

Yes I think you can pick up easy method marks in this paper. Question 1 really threw me!!

I passed my P6 Malaysian variant and it was my last ACCA paper. Now an affiliate!

I passed my final exam with 52%. Actually, I was expecting failure this time because paper was very tough and I attempted very badly.

Passed P6 (ZAF) South Africa Version. Finally an affiliate!!!

Failed with 31%. Very surprising and shocking to me. I did quite well. Please can anyone tell me if we can challenge our result with ACCA? Because I can't accept this anymore. Failed third time. 1st time with 44%, then 40 and now 31%. Unbelievable.

You can ask for a review but with a 19% gap to get a pass I’m not sure you’d get that uplift. And to be honest I’ve never known anyone get a result overturned. It’s devastating to fail but don’t give up - you will get there

While I agree with sonyam11, it could to worth it to see overall how you did per question. They well let you know if you passed or failed each question. I did this once on a paper and it showed me that I had failed Q1 but passed the other questions. My mark didn’t change when I did my review. I had gotten 49% on that paper which was P7. Failed my second attempt! This is my last exam... but going to try again.

Well done Ben, you are a True genius. Can you share how you study P6, l am writing P6 in September.

Hi Tafa2666, Not a genius, just lucky I think! Partial exemption came up for me as I was hoping - because I work for charities, this is the only aspect of tax I really perform in my role at work! I normally use Opentuition and BPP textbooks to self-study, but as they do not support P6 here I used the BPP books only for P6. The best advice I can give is to ensure you practice as many questions and mock exams as possible, as this is where I really learn the complexities the most, rather than reading the text. It clears up many areas of uncertainty for me. Also, do not be afraid to annoy those closest to you by asking them to test you on formulas and rules which are not given in the exam! Good Luck

Failed 3rd time with 27. 1st sitting - 35, 2nd -33. I spent too much time on this exam , more than any exam in whole ACCA. The only paper is left as I've done P 7 easily. It seems that P 6 is not for me Should I switch to P 4 or P 5 ? Pls asvise - I was better in F 9 than in F 5 as I understood F 9 concepts much better than mngt accounting . But some lecturer say that P 5 is not F 5 and more written paper than computational one.

Hi!!no stick at it!!! I did it 4 times!! and finally passed with 53!!and I just read solutions as the questions just scared me!!I would have question open of course to see where they getting the figures!! and I basically did about 12 exam papers over and over again!!! and wrote down the key points of each exam question.also first of all just go through the exam papers and pick out all the questions for each topic and then just go over all those questions and solutions. i always photocopied all the exam papers and cut them all up and organised them into a folder and just keep reading the solutions!! I learned all the reliefs too and I am unable to learn ANYTHING OFF BY heart i literally forget it 2 seconds later but i still tried my hardest especially fro all the income tax reliefs. but you know what you never really use any of them in the exam!!! i used i think business and retirement relief in the last exam I think!!you can do this!! so keep at it dont bother switching!! il help you through it if you want to ring me and I can give you my notes!! also i found helpful for every question unless stated otherwise go down through the taxes cgt, cat, sd, wht,ct , vat and it and comment on each of the taxes, that automatically gets u more marks and examiner likes that, thats what i did in the last exam anyway!! and leave question one to last, start with optional questions and then do question two and then question one.whatever u dont know in the time just highlight and leave to the end. at start of the exam skim through everyting for reading time and jot downall the reliefs that you can spot in the questiosn that you think you will use!! as i said my memory is so bad so i had to write down all the reliefs as much as i could at the start of the exam as iw oudl definitely forget them otherwise!! i also bought a stop watch which was AMAZING!!do that!! email me and I will ring you and help you cause it took me 4 times, just dont give up!go enjoy yourself tonight now and treat yoruself and then get stuck in!! I have one exam left audit!!which i am struggling with also so il hopefully get that in september now!! but Lets meet and I will go through everything with you and you will pass in december!!trust me!! also start with knowing the residency of each individual!!, in 1 a4 page I literally wrote down residency rules for each tax, paying dates etc on one page. and I had that at the front of my folder because you use this for most questions!!email me or comment back and we can meet and il give u my notes and il lead u in the right direction:) keep at it anyway!!

I am not gonna quit for sure. I will appear in Sept again. I am left with 2 papers. Concentrated too much on P6. I will give P6 and P7 in Sept now. P6 I will try to do more practise and mock exams and P7 will be completely new. I am only using book and kit. any tips for P7 success?

I am using Kaplan revision kit only. Please share your tips to success.

Personally my tip would be to just concentrate on one P paper at a time. And in no way is this questioning your ability but if I’d just gotten 31% I would definitely feel like I need to focus my attention on just one paper rather than risk failing two

I am switching from P5 (got 41 marks) to P6 UK, is it possible within 1.5 month?, what is best way to study, I am using Kaplan book + kit, I really want good marks in this, I am also full time student.

Hi, yes it is possible. I studied for 6 weeks and managed to pass in June 2018 exam with a 58% mark. I also work full time too. So as you are a full time student you can defitnatley do it.
