Pass! So happy. Really didn't know what to expect because I felt that I was waffling a lot during the exam. Congratulations to all who passed (as the last ACCA exam)!!!

I'm so upset. I got 46% I honestly thought I had it this time the exam went fairly smoothly. I missed some sections due to timing and lack of understanding. Which was obviously my downfall.

Fail. To me this is not advance performance management anymore. This is a handwriting skills exam.

I used BPP study text and practice kit.I also listened to all the lectures of Open tution.It makes your conceptsvery clear.Keep practising and do past questions.Examiners report is a must.

Failed with 40. Being the first time finalist and from my experience the link theory is true (I could not view the word affiliate in my source page). I do not know the exact reasons for my failure and I do not have any doubt over the marking procedures of ACCA. However an administrative procedure may indicate which questions I have passed and which questions I have failed. ACCA is not publishing the question paper and therefore is it worth to apply for Administrative review?

hello opentution team, i passed APM getting 58% in first attempt.I want to thank Sir John and all the teachers here for teaching us the subjects beautifully.It would not have been possible without you all.I am now an affiliate and passed all the exams in first attempt.Thank you everybody.

Passed at second attempt with 61% am very relieved! I failed the first attempt at 49%, my first failure. To all those who've missed the mark this time, please keep going! My only advice would be to cherry pick the questions to answer as I think this exam is impossible to answer in it's entirely in the time given. Now on to the last exam...

Feel exactly the same, 3 attempts at APM, 44, 44 and now 46. Really thought I had done enough. Gutted and sick.

to all of you who did not pass: don't feel bad. don't lose confidence. remember you got some marks. you just need a few more to pass. you just need to figure out where you are falling short. concentrate on passing, not failing. did you use the support materials on the ACCA website (technical articles). they are really good in terms of helping you pass. e.g. did you read the questions properly? theres an ACCA article that lists question words and exactly what they mean (e.g. evaluate, assess, describe). do you apply the answer to the specific company in the scenario (not just respond in general terms?).

Definitely you should go for AR as this will give you confidence where you’re good at and where you need to practice. It helped me a lot and I passed APM in September 2019.

Passed my last exam. I had no idea if I did well or not in this exam. Very happy that I've passed.

You don't listen to advice.i even got 49 in this paper and 48 and 47 but I chatting taxation and now am a member

I was in similar situation and had got AR done last time and passed this time. My advice to Anybody’s got stuck in 40s should go for AR as you get understanding that where you’re going wrong and where you need a little push.

You’re right but think about if the outcome of AR reveals you have passed Q1 and failed Q2 and Q3 then your strategy to revise will completely change whereas if you have got 47 and don’t know which question you passed and which one you failed, you would start revision from scratch and might repeat the same mistake. Thanks to few participants on this portal who post questions straight after exam which will help a lot in analysing yourself in the light of AR. This worked for me and many might not agree with but what I said above carry some weight.

Fail 47% 2nd attempt - I think for me it was exam technique becuz I ran out of time and left 18 points on the table. Question - did you for Q1 plan out your answer before you started to write? how much time should such planning take, not considering the reading time for Q1

Hi Beata i always plan for every question. i put aside 15 minutes at that start for reading time and in that time i also plan by skimming the questions first and then the text for each question and making notes on the question paper- underlining main points in the text, circling things etc i look at the marks for each question and multiply them by 1.8 to get the number of minutes I should devote to the question. then I reread the actual question itself THREE or even FOUR times to make sure i have understood EXACTLY what it does (and does not) want. I will underline the key words in the question. Then I look at the number of marks again. e.g. 10 marks means 10 separate points. so I quickly think out and jot down 10 things (e.g. as bullet points in on the question paper), again referring specifically to the company in the scenario and referring each point back to the question (to double check relevancy). if you become short of time, you can jot the bullet points down on the answer booklet too. that might get you some marks.

If you spend the reading time of 15 minutes to read all 3 questions I think it is only after 1.30 hours time to you can attempt the second question. Therefore I think it is advisable to spend the entire 15 minutes planning time to read the first question and trying to finish it with the next 1.30 hours. For the second and third questions balance 1.30 hours can be utilized. There is no choice among the questions and therefore you need not spend your time on any questions which you are not supposed to answer.
