Huge thanks to opentuition after a APM pass. I would like to show my gratitude by contributing to the site for the great job the tutors do and have done. Guys you are awsome!!
So delighted to pass my first attempt at APM. Wasn't sure how the result would go.
Passed first attempt 62%! The exam was kind. That’s my final exam done. So so happy after all these years. For anyone who still has exams to go, keep at it, the end is sweet and the time spent is all worth it x
Passed APM with 54. Second attempt.
?3rd attempt with 27%
Don't know how best to handle this paper.least I've ever gotten

mmothudi wrote:Please share technique Failed 6th timeHi, This was my second attempt at passing. When i failed the first time i tried to finish the paper as quick as i could as i thought it would get good marks for each question. Obviously that didn't work and so i focused on quality not quantity and on my second attempt really tried to present a good report in section A to the best of my abilities for 50 marks. I then rushed through section B and C for any additional marks and it worked, i passed. All the best with this paper!
I got my first attempt on 48 marks, with the PWC academy trainings, opentuition and one MOCK professionally marked to 54 passed 2 weeks before the exam. I am so disappointed and it is so hard to keep the motivation for the whole ACCA after so many troubles with SBL.
Do not give up. I recommend practicing past papers. Do at least 5 under time pressure and have it marked by an ACCA tutor. Pay attention to the feedback for areas needing improvement.
I also think we have the knowledge to pass but the exam technique gets the better of us sometimes. I got 38 on my first attempt. I then did many past papers and read examiner's articles. I noted the common mistakes made by students and avoided these as best as possible. A next good point is to assess the allocation of marks in the Answers section of the past papers to see what type of answers warrants certain amount of marks. Finally, time management and discipline is key. Try to attempt all questions but ensuring that your answer is quality over quantity. Before attempting questions, I wrote the time down when I was supposed to end each question. All of this allowed me to pass with a 54 on my second attempt. Good luck on your next attempt.
mmothudi wrote:Got 39per for th third time aftr 6 attempt, it’s so frastrating, please guys who made it how do we do it please share your techniquesI am so sorry to hear this. It can be very demotivating. APM, if you ask me, is a weird paper however, some diets are favorable, while others may not be. I will suggest that you take a step back, and reconsider how you have been studying. I will suggest that you first of all, find a tuition provider that can explain things to you, in a way that you would understand, and not teach APM as SBL, but as APM. Then, for this level, practice practice practice as many question papers you can lay hold of. and finally, work on your typing skills to gain speed, during the examination if you would be writting CBE. It may do you well, to skip June, and focus on doing September instead if you need time. Don't forget to pray and have faith that you will do well. Best of Luck to you in future.
This is my third attempt and my marks are 46, 48, 46. I have done the whole kaplan workbook. Tuitions. Revision classes with different tuition providers and completed whole BBP revision kit. It is demotivating to re take this exams. why doesnt ACCA offer a remarking? this would have helped. With level 3 there is also the stress of Expiring papers. Very demotivating.
So disappointed failed my second attempt with 26%
Felt so much more confident coming out of the second time but got 42 on my first attempt. Really not sure how I have done so much worse this time around with what felt like I hadn’t done too bad!
1st- 49 (paper based),
2nd- 40 (at home - technical issues keyboard not working properly so all excel empty – still managed to get 40.)
and now 38 (when I did your exam technique to answer every question, did good time management and and actually answered 90-95 % of the questions and finally left an ACCA exam thinking I passed.
Either there was a major mistake at grading the paper - or I am doing something wrong (major) given it appears the more I study the worse I score...
and I have no idea how to proceed from here.It is draining my patience, self esteem and whatever little savings I have.
APM was my final exams. Passed and now an affiliate. 5 years of work. Relieved but Grateful.
Are opentuition's materials what helped you to succeed, or you were studying hard?
Passed 57% at my first attempt! To be honest I thought that I will score more marks because I found this exam quite easy. But I am grateful for passing mark anyway :) Only two exams left.
Thank you Open Tuition for all lectures and notes!
Congratulations to everyone who passed and good luck to all with future exams!
52% pass, first attempt. My final exam, thank you Open Tuition tutors!
hamda2018 wrote:Are opentuition’s materials what helped you to succeed, or you were studying hard?I made notes from Open Tuition notes and then fully focused on past exam papers. I found these final 4 exams easier than the previous ones, mainly because you don’t have to rote learn every single thing in the book - it seems to be knowledge along with common sense that gets you through these professional ones so focusing on the huge text books is of little help. Make sure your answer is clear and in a format the examiner asks for.
Passed with 70% - as with all my exams I've combined my BPP lectures with OpenTuition's to get as broad a coverage as possible.
This was my final exam, so I particularly want to thank Ken for all his lectures on here on AAA, SBL, and APM - they've helped me immensely!
Hi there,
Hope you are well
Sorry to hear about your exam and the struggles. It's extremely frustrating but trust me, you have the knowledge, it's probably application.
My advice will be read the actual past exams (try understanding the question first and make a note of what you think the answer is, small bullet points) and the answers (don't attempt them first) but just read and see what's there.
Then read the examiner comments. 90% of what I read was that candidates don't understand what the question is asking.
Once I did that, when I attempted the next time, the difference was night and day.
Good luck for your next attempt and hope this helps.
I'm very grateful to opentuition team, especially Ken. It was my final exam. I've passed from the 2nd attempt. My journey as an acca student took me 14 years. There were long pauses. Sometimes I was frustrated with exam results and wanted to quit, sometimes I couldn't embrace the knowledge for the exam and felt lack of motivation, sometimes I was engaged with family affairs ...
Opentuition, you are the best!!!!!! You provide perfect opportinities for people free of charge. I've passed professional level exams with you. Once I bought kaplan courses, but failed. And you were always nearby. I've listened to your lectures as many times as it was needed. It is wonderful that in our commercial world there are such high quality specialists sharing with all who wants to receive information.
Best of luck to your activity!!!!!)
Passed with 51% and i thats the end! Finally ready for membership!
I want to thank my girl that believed on me,
my friends that didnt leave me when for 4 months every year and for so many years i was studying.
Finally I want to thank my cat for keeping me company every time i was studying!
Its time to celebrate with a Huge Corona Party!
My thoughts to all that retake the exam and remember:
The one that insists, win!
