6y ago#32I think the key to passing this exam (and any really) is identifying where you are failing and fixing it.
The first time I sat this paper I focused a lot on exam technique and answering the question in relation to the case study which is very important for APM as every point you make needs to be linked back to the case study. However, I found I lacked knowledge it a few areas which came up so I didn't know what points to make in order to link them back to the case, and so I failed with 44.
For my resit I focused heavily on making sure I understood every topic which could come up. I wanted to be in a position to be able to give any question a good attempt. My thought process was that most of the answers are in the case study but you obviously need to understand the theory in order to spot them. This worked for me and I passed with 72.
Congs my dear. Failed on first attempt. What is the secret for doing so well?
I Failed with 49%. Devastating. This is my last paper. the ROI and RI did me in. Just could not remember how to calculate RI. :(

As Mr Garrett advised, just Google for example: "P5 ACCA June 2008 paper" and both Questions and Answers appear. I downloaded all recommended past questions. Approximately 40 questions in total which cover the most important areas of APM.

Depending of the models. For example Altman’s Z score formula for predicting and preventing corporate failure is always given in questions. Argenti’s A-score somewhere is explained, as in the December 2019 paper, but you should know very well what is the difference between defects, mistakes and symptoms, and how to apply them.
For sure things like Building blocks, balance scorecard and performance pyramid should be understand thoroughly.
I have all recommended past papers downloaded and even combined each question with respective answer, making easily to use. But, not sure that all these zipped files could be delivered by e-mail.
Giving up is an an option. Look at me, I’ve been trying to pass my last exam for over a year. I’ve failed my APM at 41% again. I think it was 6th attempt. I can’t remember I’ve lost the count. Please don’t give up. Keep trying until you pass. Pain of regret is far greater than pain of failure.

Failed at 41%, I have lost the count how many attempts i have already made and don't know how many more i will to make before i can finally pass it. to me it looks a competition of writing skills rather than knowledge or performance management. I can't remember when in ACCA i was able to attempt full 100% questions. it is too hard to put reasonable amount of material in for every single question.
Passed with 53% on my 3rd attempt. 53% seems to be the magic number for this exam sitting but to be honest I would have been happy with 50% just seeing the word PASS MARK lifted the heavy burden off my chest! Reading the comments of students that failed makes me humble, I sympathise with you. Really, I feel your pain! This is by far the toughest exam I have attempted and I have done all 13 of them. The amount of time, effort, dedication and sacrifices I put into studying for this topic places APM at spot numero uno. Please know that I work full time and have a family so to put in perspective the sacrifices. I encourage you the one who read FAIL in Monday's email to continue but don't do the same effort as before this time think about what parts of the exam you can do different. For example, for me it was writing the intro of Q1 after I have finished answering all of Q1 at which point I had a good idea what the report was about. This simple change saved me 5 minutes. Anyways, this time work harder, smarter like it was going to be your last!

For BPP self study book you have to spend quite a lot of time to read and understand the topics. Kaplan self study note is slightly easier than BPP. I have not followed any of their online video lectures and I know that they are expensive. Learn Signal is quite cheap comparing to the other two Tuition providers. You can cover the syllabus very fast but in certain areas they have not covered the syllabus in detail. Ex: Business Process Re-engineering, EVA tm, Six sigma etc. In these cases I have referred other study notes from BPP & Kaplan. Another disadvantage with LS is their lecture notes cover only the questions prior to 2015. But the following additional positive factors also can be considered with LS. 1.24/7 - you can raise any questions regarding any doubts and usually they answer within a short time. 2. If you lack any prior knowledge or forgotten any of the stuff in PM or MA you can simply enroll for those courses and re-gain your knowledge in those area's without any additional fees.3. With some additional payments you can answer past ACCA question papers chosen on your own and LS will mark and give their feedback within 3 days. (They call it correction pack) 4. With some additional payments you can sit for the mock exams provided by them and they will correct it and return within 3 days. This is my own experience and trust this will help you to decide.

Got 39 first attempt. not too disappointed as i passed AAA. will resit in March
Does any have tips on how they answered the questions. Its annoying not getting feedback on where i went wrong especially as this paper was not as hard as previous papers
Passed with 65. Took my first exam in May 2018 (old F4) using only Opentuition and managed to pass all my ACCA exams first time with only Opentuition and kaplan text books. Thanks all, will defffo be donating!

failed with 47 first attempt . Dears I need to pass in the march attempt , I have done past papers from 2008 onwards three times so its clearly a technique issue . Can u all help me with this technique matter pls .

Does anyone have APM Kaplan Rev and Study Kit and want to swap for AFM?
These were used for Dec 2019.
