failed .. got 42% it was my first attempt .. will try again on march 2021

Passed with 56%.. It was my 10th attempt at AFM.. I'm now an Affiliate... I knew in my bones that I had done enough in that exam.. I fought hard to get that 56%.. If you failed just try again.. I never once thought of giving up.. I never considered changing paper because I had invested too much time and money on AFM.. And I really did not have the heart or strength to start over on a new paper..Also I really liked AFM it just didn't like me much... I know the heart break of failing..It sent me to dark places. But still I took out my notes and I started studying again,again, again and again.. If I can do it anyone can..

To God be the glory, AFM 1st attempt 57% Nothing is impossible for God to do. Put in the maximum effort I could, exam time management and never give up fighting. One more to go...SBL for me, March 2021 here I come. ACCA journey is worth every step.

Truly grateful that I passed AFM and now finally an affiliate. I think the majority of my marks came from the 50-mark APV question. My advice is, don’t get stumbled if you’re unsure of how to calculate something. Take it one step at a time and you will get part marks for approach, even if your answer is wrong. As Mr Moffat says, you won’t lose marks twice so even if you make a mistake, you may lose a mark but be consistent and you’ll score full marks the rest of the way.

@shamany don’t worry, on my first attempt at AFM in 2018 I scored 23 believe it or not. I would recommend watching the OT lectures and attempting all practice questions in a BPP or Kaplan kit (I use BPP). Then, watch the lectures again and certain things start making more sense. Mr Moffat is an excellent teacher.

I agree with you...even when my results on 50 mark APV question were all awkward....I kept using the outcomes like that and I also gave my recommendations based on my own results. I look forward to the solution.

I'd advice to go for SBL..but dont waste your time with the study text..u can use open tuition, kaplan practice kits and most importantly watch Hasan Dosani's videos on YouTube on SBL..you would definitely pass if you watch Hasan's videos

@shamany I am confident you will pass next time. May I also suggest watching Mr Moffat’s review lectures where he attempts past papers and you will see how he approaches small parts of a question at a time, so it’s not “overwhelming” during the exam. And don’t try to get everything right. If you can’t remember how to calculate something, try your best and move on. You will still get part marks for your approach.

@rishitesh I would not recommend an administrative review, as it is not a remarking service. ACCA has said that rigorous processes are followed when marking and special attention given to marks in the late 40s to early 50s. It would be a waste of money. However, well done for being brave enough to attempt the December exam, and that in itself is an inspiration to fellow students. I recommend watching all OT lectures, attempting all question in a BPP revision kit and watching the OT lectures again. I am confident you will get this.

I personally recommend taking SBL. Do read the textbook once (or twice if you have the time) and jump straight to questions. Take note on the five elements of professional marks. 20 marks is a lot. Make sure you make the most of it. Make sure you understand the requirement carefully and answer according to the question. Do not too focus on the element in the textbook when answering the question. Most of my friends who did not constraint their answer to the concept and theory from the textbook did pass ! ACCA do not want us to knowledge-dumping, it is testing our ability to be flexible and answering based on the scenario given. It is a business scenario question. Answer it like you are in a real-life business. Good luck and all the best !

46. Second time fail with the same mark! Expected, as I didn't attempt the whole of the APV for want of time. Started with question 3 backward to 1. Will be smarter for it in March. We go again! AFM & AAA to finish this in March!

Passed second attempt with 56%. It is a tough paper, I'm so grateful that I make it. Officially an ACCA Affiliate. Alhamdulillah. What I notice in AFM question is that the question will always evolve around investment appraisal question (NPV, APV, IRR etc), hedging question (currency hedging, interest rate hedging), and business valuation question. Make sure you are well prepared for this type of question. My tips is practice, practice and practice ! Attempt all past papers and make sure you understand the element from scratch, so that when ACCA twist the question a bit, you can still answer the question. The most important thing is try to attempt ALL question in the exam. Do not leave any question blank, especially fact question. All the best and good luck !

Still can’t believe i passed this on first attempt! I completely left out Question 2 and still managed to obtain a pass. This shows that the examiner is quite considerate as long as you try and demonstrate that you know what you are doing and want to achieve in your answer. To be honest, AFM was the worst ACCA exam condition i ever put myself in. So glad its over. For those who didn’t make it, do not lose hope. Put in the extra work and i am sure you will see a good result.

Passed wit 57% Trust me guys past papers practice is key to pass. At least practice last 6 papers only and believe me you will nail this paper if you are conceptually correct.

Got 44 in AFM and 37 in AAA. i thought will get thru but was not the case.

Hello to everyone! Alhamdulillah I have passed exam with 63%. I really did not expect such result. Thank you a lot tutor. I really appreaciate you. Your lectures were very simple to understand. May Allah save you and encourage to do more such good things in the future.

Passed with 53% and now an affliate. Was expecting a borderline fail or so and was looking forward to writing the exam in March- Question 2 was disastrous wasn’t sure but I kept on writing something. I observed the poll for a while before checking my results and noted a significant margin between pass and fail (more passes). It appears the global pass rate could exceed 40%. Advice: Try to study risk management thoroughly do not ignore swaps, collars and the theoretical aspects of risk management. This aspect of the syllabus is quite straightforward and with constant practice you would understand the methodology is the same. This gives you at least 20 marks head start. Please watch John’s lecture videos on Risk management as many times as possible till it sinks! Also ATTEMPT ALL questions just put something down if you do not know it.! Good thing the exam is 60% discursive these days common sense would come in handy.

This is my last paper, and it was a retake at that and I got... 49%. Previously had 46%. You can imagine how gutted I am. But I'm not giving up yet!

Failed with 44%, really surprised as I answered everything and thought I got a decent mark. Will take a day to absorb this before formulating a new plan.

Passed at the 2nd attempt. First took in September and did awful so was pleasantly surprised! I definitely agree with making sure you know risk management really well. That definitely was a change for me from 1st to 2nd attempt snd I think that’s the reason I managed to pass. I have 1 exam left now which I will be taking in March.

Congratulations, i didn't have the heart to continue AFM so I switched to APM the exam didn't like me as well

Passed with 71. The tip is attempt majority paper in the time allocated, practise last 5 years past papers, attempt mock, you should be good in both theory and calculations!
