I scored 54 after several attempts. I return all the Glory to God Almighty.... Praise be to him. To those who didn't make it don't loose hope keep trying and use different preparation method

It's very, very rare to get extra marks from a recheck, especially since when an examiner marks a paper close to a pass mark, they recheck to see if they missed any marks anyway. Admin review isn't a remark, it's just a recount. Save your money and smash the exam next time :)

Why do people keep saying glory to god for the pass. God didn't sit there for several hours a day to study it you did

Passed on first attempt at 64 %, as well as SBR at 74 %, also first attempt.

Save yourself some money... the review is only a recount of already given points, i.e. a very expensive math check, nobody will actually reevaluate the exam as such. I never heard of anyone who would turn a fail to a pass through the admin review.

The paper seemed very easy for me to be frank. I wasted maybe 10-15 minutes on the first question and that costed me at the end. This is the first exam I struggled with time. I managed to finish SBL with 5 minutes to spare. I genuinely thought I'd clear or even if I fail it'll be in the 45% area. To my surprise 30%. I don't know if I could've done a better job than that. The worst part is I've to wait till September for the next attempt. More time is never good for me but I'll try my best. Best of luck to the re-takers and congratulations to all those who passed

Passed 57 marks , second attempt. The exam is tricky, not hard as silabus but the marking is draconic. Congratulations for the passing attendees , for the one who failed -do not give up. The success will come, recap the theory but do not spend a great deal on this, focus on practicing as much as you can. Exam is very time pressuring so you have to stick with time allocation. What I spotted as first time I failed with 48 marks is that the examiner likes the ratios and not only to calculate but to analise and talk about. Best of luck and never give up

Felt the same way - the paper wasn't bad at all and I felt if anything, felt it would be a close fail for me given I didn't finish the paper. Did you finish the paper? I would say I really finished around 80% of the paper - no time to do a 10 mark question and completely rushed through the other 10 mark question without much thought at all. So, getting 39 marks is a bit comforting to know I was at least correct in almost half of what I focused on..I'll need to work on my time allocation and also exam technique for September's paper. It's also really good to know the exam we just took is on the ACCA website - I'm just waiting for the answers to be published to that I can compare them with what I wrote down ( I wrote down my answers and points I made after the exam) to see how far off I was.

Failed with 48%.I thought that this time i could pass it and unfortunately i failed with 48%. its my 3rd attempt and still not believing than i was failed with 48%. very unfair and very low passing rate.

I got 68%, passed first time. So chuffed. I agree, all down to time management and not panicking! I did all the past papers to time, and attempted every single practice exam I could get my hands on. It is not essential, but advisable to sit SBR first so you are able to discuss the accounting standards casually but in enough technical detail. I sat the UK Variant and was well prepared for the solvency question. Just FYI, on F6 my original result was 62%, however 2 months later I got an email saying that it had been marked incorrectly and I'd actually scored 70%. Whilst I didn't instigate the review of my paper, if you feel there is a chance, never say never! Scored 83% in ATX this same sitting so I'm feeling very happy. Finally an ACCA affiliate :)

Kieron, as there are no extreme changes in the ISA's nor IFRS's since the March 201 update, I personally don't think there would be any hard in using June 2020 books for the September sitting. The only paper this wouldn't work for is ATX. Do not use books for AAA that are any older the one year due to the changes in 2018.

Share your method of preparing as I am preparing it for first time Is open tution notes plus past paper is sufficient ?

Failed for the 5th time. Got 46 last sitting. This time got 39. Have had one subject for two year. I don't know where i missed it. December exam I did not attempt last question.

Passed 5th time around!!!! I think the difference was doing all the past papers on the website and the BPP revision kit (which is a plethora of past papers) over and over......and over and over - you get the picture. Also, and everyone must sound like such a broken record, but allocate yourself 1,9 minutes per mark - so Q1 is 95 minute no more. Just move on... Good luck for all those redoing the exam, you can do it!

5 key tips for exam success Hi. Congrats to all that have pass. For those who failed, it's not time to give up..no matter how many time you fail what is important is how many time you stood up after you fail and get the job done. For me I pass with 56% on first attempt.This was my final paper and now affiliate. It was a self study and took me about 2 weeks max for exams preparation. I did not attend lecture course coz it was fully book. I attempt 2 quest. I did not have enough time for the 3rd one (included some bullets points got only 5 mins left in exams, I guess it was a poor time management and spend too much time on ques one - a quite risky exams strategy). I was a bit worried but i think that good exams techniques and level of professionalism does help in this exam. Here are some tips: Tips 1:The lecture from Open tuition is simply EXCELLENT very very relevant and concise. Do refer to it and understand it. Tips 2: Attempt some 5-8 past exams (not necessarily in exams condition) but rather have an idea of the approach to the exams ques. Tips 3: Read all relevant technical articles from ACCA.You will have greater understanding and will know exactly what examiners expect from you. Tips 4: DO NOT loose the professional marks as these can be easily awarded. Tips 5: Understand the syllabus clearly. Hope these help you my friends...

I am considering to do AAA or AFM as I just passed SBR and a lot of comments said AAA has a lot of overlap on SBR. Do you have any comments on this?

Passed with 53% after several attempts (and only attempted 80% of paper). Proud to say that I never took any class/online tuition (although I would not recommend this at the professional level). I'm finally an affiliate thanks to opentuition and its tutors (the tutor's forum is very helpful), and some other online sources. The key is good exam technique and practice...and more specifically for AAA, accounting issues. Thank you OT

Believe it or not, I have taken this paper more than 4 times only to drop from 42 to 34 this time round. I will surely need all the help I can get though I must admit I really need to work on my speed. Will wait on you....... Passed with 62% at the second attempt. Failed in December 2019 with 46%. It's funny because I knew why I didn't pass in December. My time management was rubbish. I attempted questions 2 and 3 first, wasting so much time on them, then rushing through question 1 without reading the case very well. My preparation in this exam involved reading through the text of an approved provider, watching revision webinars conducted by ACCA Pakistan and studying alot of the technical articles. This was over the course of about 2 months, mostly weekends. In the second attempt, I only revised the Saturday and Sunday before the exam and just revised the technical articles and my little notes to remind myself of exam techniques of answering the questions. Then during the exams, I was very strict with my time management and ensured I attempted all questions. I was pretty sure I'd pass this time. With 52% in ATX as well at the first attempt, I'm now an affiliate. So chuffed!!

Do not waste time for an administrative review they will just chew your money

Its like UK & Ireland the majority pass at first attempt what then is wrong world over where Students are not making it at first attempt. Is ACCA being objective in the Execution of the Marking process because we even go to an extent of attending Lectures with the likes of Paul Morrison, Joel and even Learning Signal but our marks plummet and here is a guy who only answered 70% and scores 58% REALLY

There is nothing to relay to ACCA - yes - ACCA's marking processes are 100% objective - markers do not know anything about the candidates whose scripts they mark - they don't know where they sat, whether it's the 1st or 9th time they sat, how long they have been "in the system", whether they took exemptions - nothing. There are numerous factors which contribute to first time success. Surely anyone would expect large cohorts of graduate students recruited by professional firms, attending face-to-face tuition at their employer's expense, having study leave before their exams for revision, relevant work experience and English as a first language to have an "advantage" over individual students who do not have access to live courses, study leave, etc, etc. Students enrolled on courses with tuition providers are more likely to use invaluable ACCA resources at the direction of their tutors - it saddens me that ACCA (and OpenTuition) invests hugely in providing free resources for individual students and yet no amount of communication seems sufficient to ensure every student who should use/read it does use/read it.
