Failed AA by just 1 mark. Got 49 but I was pretty sure about passing. Should I review the paper?

Make sure you spend time on practice questions.

Learn how to describe Audit Risks, Tests of Controls and Substantive Procedures as they are all different. I didn’t spend enough time on practice questions so I hadn’t trained my mind to think properly when answering the questions on the above so I panicked a little in the exam and ended up writing for the sake of writing and didn’t know if it was correct or not, fortunately I managed to pass but only just.

There are some good videos on the ACCA website in the Technical Resources section which are good for describing the above.

Those of you thinking about asking (and paying!) for a review … save your money. Please, please do not waste your money and have your hopes dashed a second time!

Reviews are NOT re-marks. A review is merely a check to ensure that all pages have been marked and that the marks have been correctly added

I promise you, it will NOT change your result

For marginal papers (45 through 49) the marker will double check to see if there’s any possibility of finding those crucial missing marks.

They may even triple check those with 48 or 49

Accept the result and move on

    Please

    Passed, 67%.

I notice there are a few people saying that they have attempted multiple times to pass this exam and failed. This was my second attempt. The first round I got 45%.

    I think this is because:

    A) first round I didn’t have a depth of knowledge – I remedied this by reading all the ISA’s from front to back and developed understanding of the audit process.

    B) Hadn’t practiced enough questions. I did the front to back of the BPP question book in preparation.

    C) This is pure discourse as an exam and timing is against you.
