I have written this paper thrice now, and it being the only one…

    40, 46 and 49

First two attempts i wasnt very confident, it was ok-ish but this last attempt I was very confident for a pass, i answered 90% of the paper, and all the numerical bits i found extremely easy and answered them in full…

I just cannot believe that it all ended up on a 49% only! impossible

the only reason i can think of is that may be, just may be the examiner did not understand what i had written or done in the workings due to my handwriting becuz of time pressure, but still it never bothered me for any other papers only tthis p4, so I am planning for a review, but iv heard its a waste of money since the paper itself is not re-corrected, its just re-counted, the marks allocated in each question

So finally, getting to the point, I need help, help to pass this once and for all, iv lost all hope! never have I sat a paper in my entire life thrice and not made it! never!!!!!!!

I am sorry that you have failed – especially since your marks have been so close each time.

I would agree that a review is likely to be a waste of money and not change the result – with a mark of 49, the examiner himself will have already reviewed your paper. The only thing they will tell you is which questions you passed and which you failed – but I am not sure that will help you much.

I am afraid that all you can do is keep reviewing all the topics and keep practising questions. I don’t know if you have watched our free lectures – if not then it will help you.
With regard to question practice, I assume you have already worked through one Revision Kit. If so, then maybe buy another one from a different ACCA approved publisher, so that you have different questions to practice.

I can only suggest what I suggested to adam23 in my previous post.

Have you watched my lectures working through a few past Question 1’s? In those I go through the approach to the question as well as, obviously, the technical content.

Are you sure that your workings were set out in a way that the markers could follow? (Because the marks are for the approach – not for the final answer).

For the written parts of the questions, are you sure that your writing is easy for the markers to read? Try asking a friend to read your writing and see whether or not they find it easy to read.

Did you do something for every part of every questions? You may not have finished each part, but did you actually do something for each part?

Have you got a current edition of a Revision Kit from one of the ACCA publishers, and did you attempt every question before looking at the answer?
