It is quite common and is simply a discount given for buying large quantities.
John is there a link between volume discounting as a pricing strategies and the equation for the total cost function?
In real life there could be, but not for the exam 🙂

Regarding pricing geographical discrimination I’m affraid that cofee in Africa would cost more that 10$ 🙂 There is discussion right now in my country that product in grocery shop cost different in western Europe and more expansive in the eastern Europe where there is still demand for such products.
