I am planning to take it as I find the syllabus pretty interesting and very practical. However when I see people constantly complaining about its difficulty, it turns me off. What exactly is hard in that paper as the syllabus is very interesting, there are just business valuations, M&A, Restructuring and risk management, which are all very practical topics unlike say fixed income in CFA. Is it because ACCA students aren’t exposed to topics like that before or is it genuinely hard?

People constantly complain about the difficulty of all the final exams – all of them are hard, and AFM does not have the lowest pass rate. APM gets more complaints than AFM!How hard people find it depends on whether they prefer calculations or prefer writing, and also how easy or difficult they found Paper FM (was F9) because a lot of FM is examined again at AFM.
