    Hi,

I am thinking about starting ACCA, however, I have a few questions to gather some more information. A few years ago I did the CFA exams. For all three levels I used the so called “Schweser notes” from Kaplan together with the CFA books from the CFA institute. Here is my question: where are the books for the ACCA?

What I mean is: the CFA “body of knowledge” is composed of chapters or entire text books written by many different authors, many of them used in university courses all over the country. The aforementioned “Schweser notes” for the CFA exams are kind of a summary of these text books and almost always contain more or less all the relevant information but cut out some redundant stuff. Until a few years ago (didn’t check how it is handled today, but likely the same) the CFA institute provided all these text book chapters which were sent out as hardcopies immediately after registering (and paying) for one of the three levels.

So, I wonder if there is kind of a list of text books which are relevant for the single ACCA exams or if there is only the “books” (or, say, “summaries”) from providers like for example Kaplan?

    Thank you for your help.

The ACCA have three approved publishers who provide Study Texts for each of the exams.
The Study Texts cover the full syllabus, and no extra reading is required – they are certainly not ‘summaries’! The ACCA themselves do not publish any books – they simply set the syllabuses and set the exams.

You do not have to use any specific material – the ACCA publishes the syllabuses and you can study any way you like.

If you choose to watch our free lectures (together with our free lecture notes) then you do not need Study Texts. All you need is a Revision Kit – they contain lots of exam standard questions to practice on and practice is vital.

You can find the syllabuses and the details of the approved publishers on the ACCA website.
