Hi
I would like to check where the use of shortforms is acceptable, if at all.
For example,
OCI = Other Comprehensive Income
FV = Fair Value
NCI = Non Controlling Interest
First letter of company name
and so on.
Thanks.
You are the first student ever to have asked this! Er, no! There are numerous posts on this site as well as an exam technique article specifically saying “In a numbers question, use abbreviations”
But don’t abbreviate in a written answer unless, for example, you were writing about some International Financial Reporting Standard in which case you should refer to it in full for the first time but put in brackets immediately behind (IFRS)
