Received the following email in my box today…

I’m sorry to inform you that ACCA is unable to issue a result to you for your AFM and APM exams on 03/03/2021 and 05/03/2021 which were sat remotely.Unfortunately, an isolated technical issue occurred with your exams meaning that we are unable to provide a result reflective of your exam performance.
Please be assured that through the results finalisation process we consider all known factors impacting a student’s exam sitting prior to releasing results. This includes all information received and made available through the centre complaints and mitigating circumstances submission process.
Only after review and consideration of these factors do we determine if we can release a result to a student that we believe is a fair and consistent reflection on their exam performance.
Unfortunately, in your case, we do not believe a fair result for your AFM and APM exams could be determined on the basis of the exam answer content available and marked.
For clarification, all answer content received on behalf of students impacted by such issues is marked where available and considered when reaching this decision.
A credit will be applied to your myACCA account to allow you to enter for these exams at a future exam session.
Everyone at ACCA appreciates the disappointment which this news will cause you and we offer you our sincere apologies. Furthermore, I’d like to take this opportunity to assure you that such experiences are a very rare exception, and ACCA cares passionately about delivering the highest level of service for our students.
If you have any queries or require additional information, please do not hesitate to contact us.

——————————————————————————————DELETED… I faced technical issues during the exams. Tried my best to answer the questions and submitted the mitigating circumstances. But ACCA has not tried their best to give me a fair result. Just saying that they will refund the exam fees on the result day (which is actually unfair……)
I even don’t have a chance to start an administrative review/appeal….. since I have no result……….
April 12, 2021 at 11:17 am #617218As I replied on your duplicate post, I think the alternative to refund in these circumstances would be a fail, If you could have been passed – you would have been passed. If you were failed you would not get the refund.

I received the same email. I also faced technical issues during exam and submitted mitigating circumstances, however I was expecting to pass even without these taken into consideration. I am suspecting there was a bigger issue with remote exam results and Acca should be more transparent with students, rather than sending the same template email to all affected. I don’t understand why Acca waited till the results day with that.
Simply getting a refund for the exam fees makes no difference to me, I want my exam marked and my lost time and energy back.April 21, 2021 at 12:28 pm #618372I haven’t got a result from ACCA either – however I didn’t get an e-mail to say that they weren’t issuing me a result. I have been credited the exam fee so I am assuming I am going to get an e-mail similar to the one that you have posted. I will be really disappointed if this is the case – disappointed, like you, that this has only come out with results and further disappointed that it has taken another 10 days (and counting) to let me know this is the case.

July 20, 2021 at 1:58 pm #628917I’m sorry to inform you that ACCA is unable to issue a result to you for your SBL exams on 08/06/2021 which were sat remotely.

@Kim Smith pls explainJuly 20, 2021 at 3:52 pm #628927I think it means what it says – for whatever reason(s) – ACCA cannot issue you with a pass mark but rather than issue you with a fail mark this exam has been disregarded as an attempt. As you have been invited to contact ACCA for additional information, I suggest that you do so.

I don’t think it is fair to suggest to students that the reason the result was not issued it that they would have failed and that Acca is doing us some kind of favour. I called and email Acca multiple times and couldn’t get any information until I went through proper complain process, when they finally admitted they lost my content.
July 28, 2021 at 6:51 pm #629701That isn’t what I said. If, for example, due to a technical fault an answer script is “blank”, ACCA cannot pass it – so would have to fail it.
