Resubmission Queries

Hello, I recently failed the Research Report (topic 8) due to failing to reference my work correctly. Please can you tell me, if I have failed for this reason, do I need to update the report using the most up to date financial information? If this is the case, the company I have used to compare the financial data to has not released their financial accounts for this year. What do you suggest I do? Thanks in advance, Iain

New rules apply from P32 onwards and there is a,restriction on which companies you can use for T8 & T15 as they have to fall within certain industry sectors. OBU will be announcing these sectors I believe on 1st Dec so you will have to wait until then to choose your company. As for the years it will depend when the annual report is published. Please consult the Info Pack about the new changes and date rules (essentially the latest statements are those published before 1Feb 2015) The company selection rule only applies to T8 & T15 - all other topics are unaffected. I expect anyone who is resubmitting will be allowed to keep their previous company but that will not apply to ACO zero grade cases if you have been told you have to change topic /company as you will have to choose a company from the prescribed sector

@Trephena concerning the selection of a company for topic 8 will you be able to tell me whether it is only on listed companies i can do the project or is it ok if i chose a private company to do the project?
Ttrephena10y ago#123
@vinessen - any company or comparator that is used must publish its accounts in English and they must also usually be publicly available (e.g. on the internet). Normally private companies do not publish their accounts to non-shareholders but if you can get a copy of them then you can always reproduce them and include them with your submission (but remember their are file size limits for submission) Other information about the company should also be available on the internet so that markers can ascertain that the company does exist and the data has not been fabricated (obviously this is no problem when using a plc).

Hi, I failed my research and analysis on topic 17 simply because I didn't include excel formula to show my information technology competence.pls do I still need to submit d research and analysis or just d Excel?
Ttrephena8y ago#125
Bad luck on that one as it is an expensive mistake. Do some figures relating to EPS calculations or something like that and a graph on a spreadsheetand that should be sufficient. You don't have to rewrite the whole report but you will probably find that it needs to be uploaded as far as a resubmission is concerned as technically you haven't passed the report. To be on the safe side I would include the new EPS graph in the report too! For anyone else - please look at the Assessment Criteria checklist and ensure you have complied with everything ( as it does change from time to time)

Start by reading the marker feedback and consult my article on the Resubmission statement - why a good one is your key to a successful resubmission The latter is available on our homepage and via the following link https://opentuition.com/obu/resubmission-statement/

Hi @trephena Just a quick question and your contribution towards this would much appreciated. Do still need to have mentor or gives mentor details when re-submitting updated research report (RR)? I am a bit confused about the requirement regarding this because i have passed SLS in my previous submission. Thanks.

You still have to have someone to sign off your work -supplying their details is required when you submit. Normally a decent previous mentor will accept that you will be using their details but you should as a common courtesy ask them first.
