    The ask the tutor forum was not working and therefore the question got misposted without me asking the misconception that I had been having.

    So the following is about the question:

    What is the difference between contributing to the incident that caused the damage versus contributing to the damage suffered.

    Contributing to the incident is where you and someone else together cause damage

    Contributing to the damage is where someone, by their acts, causes you damage but then you make it worse by your own subsequent acts
