From my understanding we need to explain the changes in ratio and link them up to the business models explanations, external occurrences, etc. and my mentor said to focus on the significant changes in the ratios, but I’m confused what’s significant? >50% change? can a 20% change be significant?
December 23, 2021 at 4:26 pm #644745Hey experts! I have chosen topic 5 and need your help with regards to company selection. I have narrowed down to 2 companies, namely Zoom Communications and Netflix. However for both I was struggling to find benchmark industrial data.
Any recommendations on what websites I can use for the same? And would both the companies above be a good fit for the RAP?

October 21, 2022 at 3:34 pm #669570@japime – It depends on the context and which ratio it is. Nornaly I would regard a 20% increase as significant however the important thing is to see if it links to any of the factors identified in the models rather than simplly state that something has increased/ decreased by that amount – as you have graped.
The markers are looking for a coherent piece of work that explores the influence of the environmental factors on decision making and the consequence of those decisions on performance. Generally the stronger the links, the better the quality of the analyis and evaluation from an academic assessment point of view

The company and competitor I chose is an automobile company, so of course I focused on the automobile sales aspect in the business models. However, the company also has other products it offers like services and energy products which affects their FS. Do I include analysis of those in the financial analysis section, as it has a large impact on their profits, or do I solely focus on automobiles?
